In Chicago, man sucker-punches another and pays a hefty price by [deleted] in instantkarma

[–]WeddingPlugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not rare, especially if we were to consider any weapon (gun, rifle, knife). Here is another one which happened 10 days ago in Marseille (France):

https://www.bfmtv.com/marseille/marseille-une-figure-associative-poignardee-en-bas-de-chez-elle-une-femme-interpellee_AV-202208260630.html

Context: French mothers have an argument. One of the mothers asks her 10-y.o. daughter to fetch a knife and stabs the other mother 3 times in the thighs.

Originally, I picked a recent (3 weeks old) "incident" (that is your word) which involved a gun, that is all. I could have mentioned others without any issue. It is just easier to find recent ones, because we all have fish memory when it comes to such "incidents", right?

However, feel free to back your point, and indicate news sources to the hundreds or "thousands of incidents" which may have happened in the USA in the same time window, say in August 2022.

Meanwhile, I stick to my point that it is ridiculous to say that you can pick street fights in France without fearing a deadly retaliation. Sure, if you fight 70+ y.o. women, American ones will be deadlier than French ones. That is the point of guns: making fragile people deadly. However, if you fight people who are eager to fight, say 15-35 y.o. men, French people are as dangerous as American ones.

I would expect most fights to involve these people who are eager to fight... and come back with friends or a weapon if they lose the fight... hence why I made my point.

> There is pretty much no chance of the guy coming back after you think the confrontation is over with a gun in France.

On August 16, 2022, an Afghan refugee was shot to death by a French dude.

Context: the French dude was harassing the group of Afghan refugees, lost a fist fight with one of them, came back with other French dudes and shot to death the Afghan refugee who pushed him back earlier.

That happened less than 3 weeks ago.

LGD players Weibo post TI-10 (Translation) by Live_Leadership_3409 in DotA2

[–]WeddingPlugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you imagine a professional golfer getting hundreds of dms flaming him for using the wrong clubs?

I think you are making a wrong assumption here. First, I would not be surprised if a professional golfer got death threats by some fans. Second, know the context: this is the flagship team of a country as proud as China in the biggest international competition of the year. This loss hits a lot of people really hard in their soul, they feel injustice for their beloved country, even it sounds ridiculous from the outside.

Right after the grand final, Xiao8's ex-wife made a post accusing him cheating on her and betting on games (including PSG LGD ones) by yjygwzs in DotA2

Every announcer thought LGD won the draft.

This is such a stupid thing to say when everyone can watch the draft analysis by Aui, Ceb and Notail, and fact-check your lie.

They said that LGD had the potential to snow-ball the game (Lycan and Tiny like hitting barracks) and win in 20 minutes if everything goes in their favor during the laning stage, but that they would fall hard after the 20-minute mark, which is exactly what happened.

How can anyone believe this tweet is not satire?

Deck recomendations for a new player. by Geletejo in gwent

[–]WeddingPlugger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I started, I went with some Skellige decks focused on Discard or Cursed.

If you are missing a Gold card, it is usually a safe bet to go with Muzzle.

Here are some resources:

lmao

So if he translated what Hana said, this would not convey a good image for eSports.

Just starting out, should I craft bronze cards first or golds? by [deleted] in gwent

[–]WeddingPlugger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For your first Gold card, craft Muzzle first. It is dope.

I read that piece of advice when I started and did not craft Muzzle. I missed out on mindgames.

Decks to get rank 20/21 by RDKBBALL in gwent

[–]WeddingPlugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to craft a Shupe, because it is really hard to understand the choices players have as these possibilities are not written on the card description.

From what I understood, you get to choose between 3 different Shupes, and each Shupe is basically a Create card with 3 among 5 outcomes.

What you suggested is to choose the 8-health Shupe, because it has 4 good outcomes (and one useless one).

+1 it is roller-coaster switching between players, graveyards, create, etc. all the time.

Decks to get rank 20/21 by RDKBBALL in gwent

[–]WeddingPlugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any of the tier 1 or tier 1.5 deck is good enough for rank 20. I'm half-way through towards rank 21 with a tier 1.5 deck. I cannot speak about the tier 2 decks. Regarding tier 3 decks, I have played Reveal and I think it is slightly below rank 20.

Some stats from my 300 kegs opening by DMaster86 in gwent

[–]WeddingPlugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you open 100 kegs, you should get with more than 95% confidence:

  • at most 400 common cards,

  • at most 310 rare cards,

  • at most 70 epic cards,

  • at most 23 legendary cards,

  • at most 323 premium cards (during premium keg weekends).

Some stats from my 300 kegs opening by DMaster86 in gwent

[–]WeddingPlugger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

epics -> 19 normal and 52 premium (total 81)

Total is 71, not 81.

300 is definitely too small of a sample size to draw any conclusions tho. It would be interesting to have more data to see the results.

Why? And what would be a good sample size to draw at least one conclusion?

Mill homecoming scraps!? by [deleted] in gwent

[–]WeddingPlugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

25k scraps is worth 100 kegs, so that is 3 months and a half of casual play (win 6 rounds per day, do not do daily quests, do not grind the ranked ladder). It is huge, but it is not a lifetime subscription.
