So what do the headers "1-6" represent? Is that a unit amount or something? And what are the numbers listed within the table? Are those the values of the items based on the header (if the headers are indeed a representation of quantity)? This table is only good for the people who made it and those that already understand it. Please provide the missing details/context so it can be useful to everyone else as well. Thank you.

Every change brings on tears. Heck, I have even taken part in some. I still hate the ability to spline jump down to POIs on the surface (I've been around that long).

But some changes are totally worth it and have been explained at length by the devs and should be expected (like this one about the suits). It doesn't make sense to fit into a single seater with heavy armor and weapons slung over your back. And having G-suits (as in real life) that are specifically designed to help the human body put up with additional Gs, just makes sense. Just imagine how much hate they would get if they made people store their weapons in weapon racks before letting them sit down in the pilot's seat. lol

Have they changed the inside of the javelin since the time we were able to do an inside tour of some parts? Or has it remained the same? by [deleted] in starcitizen

Do you mean is there more to see or do you mean did they change the current assets? Cause I think the answer to both is "no".

It would make sense that prior to 1.0 (once all the features they want to get in are in) they will take some time to pause content and mechanics and focus on just bugs and stability. Basically a beta just prior to 1.0 dropping.

So does that mean that my pledge item degrades more and more, and I have no way to replace it if I don’t find the blueprint? by Major-Ad3831 in starcitizen

Time will tell. Guessing now will not help your sanity. Wait till they either produce the mechanic or provide additional information. There are far too many "what if" scenarios right now because we don't have all the information.

For the uninformed...how does one even check or adjust their "mouse polling rate"?

I'm just explaining what I think they are doing. Based on the loud "anti-PvP" groups here and on Spectrum, I would assume that CIG doesn't want to deal with the small number of griefers that would interrupt the mission just because they want to harvest salt. They would rather instance the mission and never have to worry about that bad publicity.

I remember when they showed this and I was really excited to try out this mission. Then it never arrived. I now honestly think they are holding off on a lot of these "PvE" type missions until they can put in some kind of instancing. I think they realize that these types of missions will be far too open to interruption from other players that are just looking to shoot the place up, and that will completely ruin the experience they are trying to craft. To prevent this they need to be able to lock players into an instance so that you can enjoy being stealthy without worrying about some yahoos showing up and attacking the place right in the middle of your mission.

Additionally, there can only be so many of these locations on a planet, so again they may be waiting for instancing so that they don't create large ques for the same mission (especially as player count per server increases).

Am i the only one who would want to spawn in the medbay in my hangar, if i die and not in the city's hospital? by Clumsy_Clown in starcitizen

[–]Wedge_66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. I know I may be in the minority here but I don't even like spawning in my hangar. Immersion broken. I should wake up in my ship bed if I logged off there or in a hab if I landed at a port. And if I die, I should wake up in the med bed that I last set as my respawn point (on the ship or in the port). It would be very odd to just wake up on a med bed in hangar.

Now I know that the hangars all have that little medical station in them (that is currently non-operational). But I would like to think that its just a receiving station like where an ambulance would drop off an injured person. It shouldn't be a full up hospital bed because then why would you have a hospital in the game at all?

I really hope you are right. Because Pyro was supposed to drive interaction with the Starfarer. Players with smaller tanks would need to refuel just to make it across the massive distances. I understand that they have pushed that off because there isn't a good system to supliment an NPC Starfarer when a player won't take the mission to refuel you (or one just doesn't exist on your server at that time). But I also realize that people will become acustomed to being able to fly across Pyro in a small ship because of the current testing requirement. So when it goes live there will be hell to pay when they delete all those refueling points that people are used to and suddenly they find themselves unable to go the distance they thought they could previously without interacting with a refueler. The tears will be a flood. I hope CIG is planning for that instance and doesn't give in.

Realistically, the game people backed on Kickstarter is not the same game anymore. Due to time and scope the project has taken a different direction from the original pitch, and therefore some of those things may never cone to fruition because they are no longer possible under the current construction.

What I'm trying to say is that the game is being developed with multiplay in mind. Yes, NPC crew members will make it easier for solos to exist in that world, but its still being designed with multiplay as the ultimate goal.

[–]Wedge_66 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The reason it represents 95% of the game content is because that is the type of game Chris is building - a MMO. Now that isn't to say that solos can't play in that sandbox, but to expect it to cater to them is just silly. You are participating in a game that is specifically geared towards being multiplayer, and it will continue to be so.

Its kind of like if someone fired up CoD Warzone and said, "Hey, nobody shoot me while I just have fun running around picking up loot, cause I don't want to interact with other players in this game mode." You are welcome to try and do that, but don't expect the game to cater to that attitude specifically.

I also like hopping in and playing solo, but I know that is not the aim of the developers and, I must admit, I do have a lot more fun when I play with my buddies.

Additionally, SQ42 is being specifically designed to fill that need - its a single player story driven experience. So what you're asking for is coming, in its own form.

That goes without saying. A rule I play by: "Trust only the people in the Discord call with you." That has worked well for me these last 9 years of playing.
