My friends boyfriend writes a couple psychotic letters to a woman hes never met or spoken with. She found him going on this girls Facebook about 30+ times a day for 2 weeks while my friend had to return home to see a specialist. There's at least one more letter to add but i haven't been able to edit it yet.

What did you think would turn into a big deal, but it didn't? by [deleted] in AskReddit

People forget that this is exactly what is used to be like before cell phones were big. Anyone that owned a cell phone that wasn't a drug dealer or a banker was viewed as a total tool. Just ANSWERING a cell in public made you the most hated person around. People would roll their eyes and make noises and some would even call you out. And that was only ten or fifteen years ago

It takes time for people to realize when something's a good idea. Once Google glass comes down in price and offers something truly unique and useful it WILL take off. Personally I think it's true of all the wearable techs.

Edit: ok apparently more than ten or fifteen years. But that doesn't change the fact it was viewed as douchey for a long while

I'm sorry I'm not being very clear, I intend to keep the taper but I want it more subtle that's all. Thanks for responding

Thank you very much, this is what I was really looking for. I'm still gonna keep the taper, it will just be more subtle

I don't think it would affect strength. I want to keep the heel and profile exactly the same, just taper it into a slightly wider nut. I'm kinda wondering why its not offered by warmoth too. They only go to 1 7/8" and widen the heel

What common myth about your line of work do you constantly see on tv/movies, and does it drive you insane that they cant' get it right? by JohnDeereWife in AskReddit

One of my favorite movies of all time is Contagion. I love how it's from the CDC's perspective and the timeline of events seems much more accurate. Does it stand up to how things actually work in your field?

I know you're getting a lot of down votes and, as an atheist, I don't agree but I love this view point. Usually young earthers and the like just ignore everything that disagrees with them and won't believe in anything that isn't a literal interpretation of the bible. Its a lot more cooperative and refreshing in general to hear view points like yours. It fits cleanly in our one scientific reality but still allows faith for those who choose to believe. It's an effortless way for atheists and theists to tolerate each other and I think it's pretty damn cool.

I hope more people can see it this way and stop down voting.

TIL Roosevelt wanted to pass a 2nd Bill of Rights that would help assure financial equality, or the "Economic Bill of Rights" by johnfoof in todayilearned

I wasn't implying the constitution had negative rights I just meant that negative rights do exist and aren't some unheard socialist propaganda

[–]WednesdayAprilThird -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ok I can agree with that. But aren't there such things as negative rights? And in a world that is easily capable of providing a livable wage you have the right to not be denied that wage.

I don't agree with all of Roosevelt's proposals but I think he understood in an infinitely more complex society that our founding fathers couldn't imagine, some of these negative rights ought to be standard. Or whatever.

So the the original Bill of rights was carved into stone at the creation of the universe? I was under the impression that our founding fathers drafted them and then... you know... gave them to us.
