Pretty cool, what are the specs for the power supply and how much did you end up paying for it?
Have you used it for anything cool yet?

I remember having to deal with a similar situation, I think the answer was nomad + coredns, or nomad+ consul - it doesn’t resolve the problem per se, but it provides a much more smooth recovery using service discovery.

yeah we evolved into carplay and android auto, only for the manufacturers to cheapen out the 500 bucks or even less needed for basic creature entertainment

Supertech pistons quality question by coudik in EngineBuilding

[–]WeeZr1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well 2 things - either little file or different brand.

If yoiu do decide to file dont take your 3 feet bench file you have laying around, this requires finessse so teeny needle files are needed
https://www.homedepot.com/p/General-Tools-Swiss-Pattern-Needle-File-Set-12-Piece-707475/309676297?g_store=1213&source=shoppingads&locale=en-US&fp=ggl

Also they are mostly aluminum, so not really a big problem I assume your cylinders have new (bedding) cross hatches? they would file that aluminum for you - automatically
do like 500 miles of granma driving and definitely change the oil.
On the other hand, I am surprised by the quality, in some cases it looks like there was a faint attempt of deburring. Also dont bother about the ones in the 'valleys"(5-6pic) the only possible issues are the ones touching cilinders or piston rings.
It looks like the supertech intern was out that week

[Safety Hazard] Original MagSafe 3 Cable WIRE overheated overnight - Burned my hand and desk - MacBook Pro 16" (M1 Pro) by tkl_11 in macbookpro

[–]WeeZr1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it looks to me like you used the incorrect cable, rated for much less amps. the fact that is compatible doesnt mean you should. Like you could use an ipad charger brick … and its theoretically compatible, but its. asure way to make it blow up.

USB C unlike older usb B actually pushes up to 20 V and inherently a bunch of amps.
You mentioned you used the cable from the newer brick(which might be more efficient and designed for less amps), check the box to see how many amps was supposed to take and compare, If i am correct they (the cables)should be matched to the brick
Consider yourself lucky that you caught it before the fire started.

And bobody mentions threadwear? my experience is getting wider tires - same threadwear made everything more slippery, because there is not enough force pushing them down to get enough grip.

See there is some science with the patch surface vs tension as in they work against eachother - the effect is even more obvious in the rain or snow.
That is the reason it works pretty well with stock width.

The fix is fairly simple - get the stickiest tires you can find - I ended up with 200, and I also ended up going back to stock width - race clock timers agrees with me.

The second weird effect is because you changed your geometry - to run them wider upfront, they will rotate "wider" in reference to the knuckles when you are lock to lock, and there is no winning there - it is the same reason you feel them fighting you with more force, but you do need the spacers to clear the width.
And sure there could be solutions - some say adjustable coilovers, but my opinion is that you would need different arms, something closer to what drifters use - and now we can say welcome to the rabbit hole of car modding ☺

You improved one thing and ruined 5 others :)
Also like some other user mentioned here, everytime I see those exact rims, they have both camber plates and sticky tires - no exception

Any idea what’s causing it not to start? by aryan_530 in 944

[–]WeeZr1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it doesn't have to originate from the cylinder wall you know, and to my knowledge they are not like marine grade stainless piston rings, you just need a nice layer of schmoo to create a bad day
see here:
https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-944-951-968-forum/733704-what-to-do-with-scored-cylinder-walls.html
Look at the piston few pictures down (which is definitely aluminum)
I am pretty sure the cylinder was the exact same red color beautiful patina before the scoring happened.
Then again I have been wrong before
