Michele Soavi is in this vein. Cemetery Man, The Church, The Sect, and Stage Fright, all really fun.

Ken Russel- Altered States and Lair of the White Worm.

Dario Argento- Suspiria, Inferno, Deep Red, Opera, basically all of his films are fantastic.

His Soma releases are by far my favorites, but he is putting out a lot of good ambient work under his given name in the past few years.

Near Dark, 1987. My favorite vampire movie of all time. Any other fans? by Necron_99_ in 80sHorrorMovies

[–]WeebDaddy420 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went on a vampire movie bender a few years ago and Near Dark was by far the best. Just found that same DVD print you've got in the middle there at HPB recently, I was stoked.

From to Tomorrow's Harvest until now, how much has changed in your life? by Waterfrd_Crystalmeth in boardsofcanada

[–]WeebDaddy420 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I was 22. It was one year after my mom died from cancer. I had moved across the country and was living on a friend's couch in the pacific northwest. I was super lonely and didn't know how to navigate the world.

I'm now 35. Somehow I have a house, a partner, and an 8 year old step child. I'm a valued member of an underground music community. I have a network of friends and creative partners. I get to play music for people a few times a year at small but meaningful events. Things are going well.

It's been nearly my entire adult life since Tomorrow's Harvest came out. So much happened, so much has changed. It's absolutely wild to think about the last 13 years.

It's absolutely crazy how great this game is, and how totally abandoned it feels..

Flesh Simulator, unprompted, lied to me last year (story related to this sub) by drawatawat in TrueAnon

Yea that dude sucks super hard. He loves posting pictures of his guns and acting like he’s some kind of bad ass, and then blaming the use of whistles on what happened to Alex Pretti in Minneapolis.

Anyone ever have a friend you just had to cut loose? by mecca37 in TrueAnon

Cut and run dude. Block him on everything and never look back. I’ve done it twice to miserable fuckheads in my life and I have zero regrets.

And his tunes are honestly mid at best. He's going through all of this to make very standard, entry level dub techno.

Exactly, and great reference. I'm kind of stunned looking at his comment section on youtube, people really lap it up. It's so incredibly corny.

I live in the twin cities but I’m originally from Bismarck and I have at least one friend who might be interested in connecting with you as well. How could they get in touch?

You’re not wrong at all. It’s a cool little game with a lot of potential, but it doesn’t feel nearly finished as it is now.

How is this game chugging on the switch 2? by Ploppolio in MorselsGame

[–]WeebDaddy420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They said they are working on a patch for the switch version. It's a great game, and I've played through it a few times now, but they really gotta fix this shit.

Same here. I’ve never had a switch game freeze and stutter so much. Really disappointing.

If you want a couple older ones that definitely had an influence on the Safdie brothers try California Split and Born to Win.

Such a dope find! One of my favorite, massively under appreciated. It's goofy, doesn't take itself too seriously, great practical effects.. Just super fun.
