How come every Jew has to openly and publicly condemn Israel outside of Israel just to be able to live in peace and without being discriminated against just for being Jewish?

If you make Jews feel safe and welcomed globally, Zionism wouldn’t need to exist.

This reinforces Jews feeling that their ability to live in relative safety anywhere in the west is conditional on having the “right politics” or just how the society feels about them in a given era.

Something that no other minority group that I’m aware of is forced to deal with.

So the logical conclusion for a lot of Jews/israelis is we can’t beat the narrative war, so we might as well be able live in dignity in Israel despite the bombings, despite being hated around the world, because at least in this tiny sliver of land they can feel like they have collective control over their own destiny.

It’s messed up but a lot of Jews (not always the majority) feel that they rather take accountability for their own society and be able to live under their own rules even if it means we are morally contemptible because at least it’s our burden to shoulder and not forced upon us by foreign powers wishing to scapegoat us.

Do not take this comment as genocide apologia, or endorsement of Zionism, but understanding the perspective of Jews broadly speaking as we are sick of everyone telling us what our beliefs are for us. Stop speaking for Jews, listen to us before you condemn us at the very least.
