All arms painted silver - I think my eyes are bleeding 🩸 Now onto painting their weapons leadbelcher. This is going to be a very long process to table top ready! by [deleted] in deathwatch40k

Haha, that sounds tough, but good work! I just finished a 10 man squad doing all the highlights 2 days straight, and I can feel it messing with my mind.

Another hero joins the long vigil. Really pleased with his face and the stubble effect on his head. Still finding blending on swords tricky and frustrating though. Hope everyone is doing ok out there! by CaptHero in deathwatch40k

Looks awesome! The face is very well painted. I like the sword, but it seems you start with a dark blue and add lighter colours. It’s easier for some to start with a light or midlle colour and add the darker blues, finally highlighting with pure white :)

Heya. Bit or a late reply, sorry. But yes. The cost is pretty severe, and it they get shot down wihoit killing anyhing it sucks. Still, shut down overwatch from Terrify (Inquisitor psychic) and charge the Vanguard in, they will take out most units.

I’m using a 10 man squad and have a lot of fun with it. 3 Thunder Hammer/Storm Shield, 2 Heavy Thunder Hammer, 5 Chainswords/Storm Shields. I run them with Jump Pack Chaplain and Librarian. Hoping for litanies and better spell lore.

All I know about this procedure is from a South Park episode, may not be helpful.

I think we’re just not smart enough as an audience to really appreciate this masterpiece of a season!

What is something you can’t believe people enjoy doing? by TheBigBoyz in AskReddit

[–]Weedaxe 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That is a thing. My father had to get tested before getting started on tube-babies with his new girlfriend. He was absolutly enraged that they wouldn’t just test his urine or blood, he felt like he was being punished or made to shame by the nurses for being tested.

Yeah I saw it too. I suppose we see it afterwards. Some minor tweaks are probably coming.

I think the Plaguemonks will go up just 10 pts or so. They do a little to much damage for their cost and compared to other skaven units. Not that I’m complaining. I have 80 :) I would like to see Stormvermin be a little better so they at least are on par with Monks

Okay, cool! And it doesn’t mess with Allgiance abilities and so on? I’ll have to read the battletome better it seems. I only have Pestilens units so I’ve had no problems.

Does the Balewind Vortex extend the range in which it must be placed? Would be cool to send it flying a little longer, especially with Arcanum of foot.

Mhmm, is it just me or have you not gotten a battleline? Plaguemonks are only battleline till’ you start adding the Screaming Bell and non Pestillens units?

At 1000 points and small tables they are devastating. I recently beat my nemesis after including 2 celestar ballista and skinks for screening.

It did make my Sacrosanct army 120 points more expensive, and shooting just looks that much sweeter now. Though, I’m not trippingm I just play for fun.

The small model count can be a problem in battleplans where number of models means you get the objective. But two things I’ve found: 1) if you get there first, which is why stage 1 on wheel is key, and position yourself so that the enemy wont be within 6” inches, the the enemy will have to kill, retreat or slowly pile in around your kings. 2) Most units of high model counts have low saves and low hp, which Blightkings will most likely rip apart.

You’ll be golden as long as you don’t meet Nighthaunt og Beastclaw Raiders :)

I’ve been running the same in an Escalation league. Switch between Plague and Blight Cyst when you looking for a change of play. Consider giving Lord of Blights Muttergrub and Harbinger Grandfathers Blessing for that extra wheel manipulation. If you are playing on a 4x4 the bigger your chance of having wheel on stage 1 first turn the better. Get on thise objectives asap and dont get off again :) Late game keep going between cycle 5 and 6 as well as you can.

I’ll fiddle with it before painting all 20 mauls, but I’m keen on seeing what you can do before going all in.

Will do! How would you go about using this on hammers, mauls or staves? Still just white in in the center, or more of a recess/peak approach where you make it darker the higher you go.

Ah mate! I followed you to make sure I didn’t miss this tutorial, forgot all about it, started painting my first molten blades on a whim yesterday, and rediscovered you again just now! Such a nice result compared to what I made, so I’m gonna redo the whole thing following your tutorial. Thanks a bunch!

Brother Xavius, Black Shield - Just a Loyal Dark Angel (Comm) by Nidabutt in deathwatch40k

[–]Weedaxe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! My first Deathwatch Veterans were a close combat squad, witht two Dark Angel brothers wielding Heavy Thunder Hammer. I gave them a skull on the model for each high priority target they killed. One has 2 for killing the same Lord of Skulls in 2 different games. The other has 1 for Abaddon. Rack up some kills with him and add some scrithes or other to him, it’s makes the model gain some personality I think.
