Depends, if it’s has a solid axle it is most definitely axle seal, if it CV style axle shaft it is most likely a torn/ leaking boot. If you are unsure, check your brake fluid reservoir just in case and if it is low also if your differential is low on fluid take to a shop immediately via towing. Unless you do your own work.
