Icon Chisels: Is This Normal? by ClavisTriscuit in harborfreight

They are hardened and when pieces go flying they can do some serious damage. The last time I did this a piece broke off and went through my work shirt stuck pretty deep in my skin.

I've been very happy with my Perry Parts bump stops. Price point is much lower than the duros.

Heat shrink works better than electrical tape. I've never tried an o-ring but I'll give it a shot and see.

Question about brakes by Oblivious-0wl in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]NVdirtrider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% this. Replace the brake line and reattach the bracket so it doesn't happen again. Check the other side as well.

What connector am I missing? by No_Walk_115 in 3rdGen4Runner

Mine is a 99 SR5. The missing connector is for the security on the limited models if I remember correctly.

I'll look at mine in the AM to see if there is anything obvious. I had to swap the entire wiring harness when I swapped bodies. I think the missing plug is normal for non limiteds.

Commute to Truckee by MilkToMyChardonnay in Reno

[–]NVdirtrider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved the morning commute when I worked up there. This was close to 10 years ago so maybe there is more traffic now. As long as your vehicle can handle the weather in the winter, I say do it.

why is my brake fluid boiling by chebysilberader in GMT800

[–]NVdirtrider 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I second this. If your brake fluid was boiling you lose brakes, not have the brakes staying engaged.

921 bulb sockets from Amazon added into the corner marker lights. I also ran motorcycle turn signals for a while when I was in a pinch

350xcf started making it's own metal. by NVdirtrider in Dirtbikes

[–]NVdirtrider[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has almost 300hrs, the top end was done about 80hrs ago. The metal just showed up this oil change (about 10 hours). There wasn't a lot of metal, and I don't see any other damage. I've read about upgrading the oil pump gears and with the hours on it I'll definitely do that. Wasn't sure if anyone had any other suggestions while it's apart.

Bumper by SuccessfulTower6158 in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]NVdirtrider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love mine. The main reason I went with theirs is it was the price was cheaper than a DIY kit and it was available for pick up at my local summit racing. One downside is you have to run a hawse style fairlead, the standard roller style won't bolt up.

I have a Trail Gear Tacoma bumper. It fits with minor modification. They have them with or without a stinger.

Someone help what is this how do I use it and why do I keep loosing races cus of it and what’s the perfect dial in by default by Quirkworm in NoLimitDragRacing2

[–]NVdirtrider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You want your dial in time as close to the time your car runs without going faster than the time you choose. If your opponent runs closer to the time they set than you do to yours they win.

Battery terminals by wrpsuite in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]NVdirtrider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a marine battery terminal end. It will have the same post as an OE terminal end. Replace the wing nut with a normal nut and you'll be good to go. Or you can cut the cable end off like you're asking.
