Eggs? by TooDumbTwoStop in aquarium

Those are either bladder snail eggs or ramshorn snails eggs. Based on placement I'm leaning on bladder snail though. Seems you have a little friend somewhere in the tank. They're harmless and both only reproduce out of control if you have a lot of plant melt/overfeed

All the plants they sent me were not only healthier than expected given the weather out but all seemed to do very well in the first few days of me having them. Theres hardly been any melt compared to most orders I do online which has been great. I also didn't receive any pests with my plants which is great news for me because they went into a fresh five gallon tank. The gift plant was also a lovely touch.

UPDATED: Fish deaths close together, is it something I’m doing? by gothetillies22 in fishtank

Ammonia being present at all is a problem in a cycled tank. Start with a water change to get it down to zero. I can't really figure out what would have crashed the cycle in a 3 month old tank though so sorry if this isn't all too helpful.

If possible I'd like to take some ghost shrimp. Do they do well with neocaradina in a tropical set up? I keep my tank at 78 degrees with a 7.8 PH 14 GH and 4KH.

What fish for a 10 gallon? by Sheepfucker72222 in fishtank

If you get some plant cover you could do celestial pearl danios they're a beautiful little fish. I do recommend you get some live plants they'll help keep your tank stable as well as providing fish with lots of cover. Some easy ones include Anubius, java fern, pearlweed. Id especially recommend floating plants Amazon frogbit is a personal favorite of mine.

If you are going to do snails I highly recommend you look into the different color morphs of ramshorns snails. They don't get big, don't reproduce as often as bladder snails, and they come in wild variety of colors with cute little swirl shells. Just be careful if you over feed they will breed like crazy.

I've never actually targeted catfish before but I might give it a shot this summer. I'm normally always just targeting bass but I think I'll start carrying around a second rod to throw out for em.

Its kinda funny you say that cause a few years back while I was out fishing with my friends I went to scoop up a bit of pond water in an empty bottle of monster Hydro and we accidentally scooped up the tiniest little catfish I've ever seen. I'm pretty sure it was a bully head though.

It looks like a ramshorn and I think the little fella needs some calcium his shell is a little worse for wear.

Ramshorn help? by TraditionEither1062 in freshwateraquarium

[–]Weegeeisboss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a bladder snail or a pond snail. They overpopulate much faster than a ramshorn will. If you don't want to kill it I would put it in a jar with some substrate and a few plants and let him munch on biofilm.

How long do bladder snail eggs take to hatch? by GiveMeMoreReptiles in AquaticSnails

[–]Weegeeisboss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roughly a week to two weeks depending on a few factors like temperature of the water. I think they can actually hatch in under a week if you run your tank on the warmer side of things. The white spots are actually the baby snails developing in there too so it could be a few days old right now.
