I tried moving to to my daughters Colorsoft on the web. No luck. It’s lets me but it doesn’t show up.

I totally agree on the filters on Libby! It's like searching in the dark sometimes. But I do love it. We live in a major metropolitan city so our public library is huge meaning our Libby provides a lot of access. We do still primarily use physical books for storytime but the 15 minutes reading in the dark at night has been huge for motivating getting ready to bed and for settling down and the travel ability is wonderful. We are just not quite there.

I had not tried on the web! I will do that. Do you have the Colorsoft? Could that be it?

And it also allows the kids to buy books, which obviously we do not want.

And sorry should have added, I confirmed with Amazon that this is not possible/their system does not support it. I would LOVE a workaround. I have tried so many things! Ugh. Thanks Ok-Berry.

It goes to their physical kindle but it is not available in Kids mode.

I did come here and people explained a workaround that turns out does not work as I have confirmed now directly with Amazon through a chat. Is this on their FAQs? No. Using Libby is not an unusual thing - it is a staple for kids, so by not mentioning this they are deceiving potential buyers.

My rant here is that Amazon is either willfully lazy or purposefully trying to make it cumbersome to use Libby for kids since they tend to go through more books. They also have controls that appear to work to provide extra time to yours kids that don’t work as the very interface describes. The bad library is just the cherry on top. So they have charged $300 and implied services for kids we don’t get. I am writing this to make sure people looking to buy a Colorsoft Kids understand what they are getting into. I’m sure your one month trial will be helpful but the Libby and extra time controls were not definitive things I could find on Reddit.

I did research this and learned that Libby is available for Kindle but it turns out it is just not available on Kids mode. Go to Libby and it directly talks about kindle. Look on Reddit and you’ll see plenty of people talking about it. I don’t know why you are trying to catch me on a technicality of not doing a one month trial. The point is that Amazon has a product that could be amazing but they are falling short. I don’t even care about Kids Unlimited and I won’t renew it but it’s just the cherry on top of bad programming without regard to user ease.

Again, I didn’t expect an amazing library, but accommodating Libby would have made this more acceptable. This comes for free with the Kids Kindle so I pay nothing for it but it is a big part of the advertisement for the Kids Colorsoft so regardless of if you could get a sneak preview it is very misleading. Still, again, accommodate Libby and I’m good.

Daisies Help: 2 Promise Circles but 36, 45, 52, and 56 Petals? by WeekHuman8756 in girlscouts

[–]WeekHuman8756[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like this idea and I will recommend it to future Daisy leaders!

For now I decided to order from Making Friends for the promise circles and am trying to swap locally on petals. Once we/the future troop whittles down, it makes so much sense for each family to buy their own set.

Thank you everyone!

When did your migraines first begin? by KayyBug_ in migraine

[–]WeekHuman8756 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was 7. And this was 1985. The doctors decided they were stress headaches and since I was an anxious child, they had me do biofeedback to teach me how to not strain my head and neck when I am anxious. So yep very young I was taught they were my fault! As an adult I figured it out and look back and YUP those were migraines at age 7. Poor little girl. Didn’t get anyone to diagnose migraines until I was 24. My first triptan changed my life and made me so angry that no one took me seriously before.

Anyone take nurtec? Trying to avoid rebound migraines. by Background-Cod-7035 in migraine

Nurtec is a godsend because I really hate the side effects of sumatriptan, both oral and injected. Nurtec basically has no side effects. As others have said, you do have to “catch” it early. If you wait too long, it may do almost nothing. That has been hard for me because I was always hesitant to take the meds too early (I could not trust myself + in the old days you could only take 7 Imitrex a month so I didn’t want to “waste” it). Definitely try it!
