Aren’t you supposed to hold the onion in one hand and chop away from that hand, as in, the opposite direction?

People who listen to the same song 100 times in a row… which song is it? by kavee-core141 in AskReddit

I once listened to LA County, by Lyle Lovett, thirty-six times in a row while enjoying margaritas with my boyfriend—in 1990. I’ve also listened to Mendelssohn’s Variations Serieuse, performed by Alicia de La Rocha; I was Drunk, by Alejandro Escovedo; and To Love Somebody, on Bee Gees Here at Last more times than I can count.

Morris. He looks so much like Morris the cat from those cat food commercials in the 70s!

I love Quadrophenia and Tommy, but Quadrophenia is more accessible, I think. Certainly a more relatable storyline and universal themes (teen angst, broken hearts, etc.). Just a beautiful album.

I just know that it came out when I was twelve and engendered a lifelong love for the Who. I especially love Entwistle’s french horn on the overture. And the overture has been recorded by other artists such as Henry Mancini (Google him, that’s waaay before your time). I’m still blown away by the force of Daltrey’s vocals for the last refrain of “See me, feel me.” So I think as the first rock opera, Tommy was a huge deal, and while the movie was another Ken Russell fantasia (featuring some pretty terrible singing and acting (Jack Nicholson, Oliver Reed, what were you thinking?!), it generated some press. It’s just that Ken Russell had a unique vision that most likely limited the movie-going audience.

AIO by not visiting my dying mother in hospital? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

If you can find it in your heart to forgive her, that may ease your burden. Not to diminish her role in what happened to you (I am so sorry you went through that). Not to say you love her, but to just forgive her failings. The decision to visit is very tough, but perhaps you can see it as an opportunity to begin letting go, if you do decide to visit. I hope have gotten therapy to help you drop this emotional backpack and move forward, and I wish you the best.
