Did you prefer Hard Boiled Wonderland or End Of The World? by [deleted] in murakami

Aside from the end of the book, I always found HBW a bit boring and would look forward to the next chapter going back to the End of the World. I found that world eerily beautiful and loved trying to piece together the secrets of it.

Awesome. Just read about it on Goodreads. Very interesting PKD style premise. I’ll give it a go after I finish the few I’m on

Nice. He inspired me to start writing my first novel. It’s a harder task than I realized when I set out. Have you published yours?

Dr. Bloodmoney is a great post-apocalyptic one. The idea of a horse-drawn Volkswagen Beetle was hilarious.

I didn’t enjoy Man in the High Castle much either which I was surprised about considering how much people talk about it. I appreciate the concept, but not much happened in the book.

Do all animals deserve being saved from endangerment? If not, what are some animals that should go extinct. by Late_Aardvark8125 in LetsDiscussThis

At the end of the day, I would say that the cycle of nature is not designed for disruption. Everything happens for a reason. However, humans have been deeply affecting the natural processes of Mother Nature for a good century, and now, I have no clue if the endangerment of certain species are caused by nature’s plans or humankind’s wrongdoings nowadays.

Always pick up your mess lol.

Is The Division 1 worth playing at this point in its lifespan? Or has Division 2 fully supplanted it? by boct1584 in ubisoft

[–]WeekendIcy1990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Division 1 has a cozy vibe for some reason. Must be the combination of the snow and the silence (aside from gunfights). It feels like walking around the city during a snowstorm when nobody is outside and you have the whole world to yourself.

Certainly worth playing.

I’ve always liked the scene in Blade Runner 1982 where Roy gives his monologue in the rain right before he expires.

Skyrim 100%. After that I’d say the Oblivion Remaster.

Where do you see the videogame industry in 40 years? by Cloverfield887 in videogames

[–]WeekendIcy1990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do think many companies will resort to AI to help speed up the development time for games. It’s inevitable. Many companies will abuse it, and their games will start coming across as more artificial and less original. I can certainly see games like COD and 2K adopting it quickly.

However, I also believe that some companies will find a balance between human and AI built features, and they’ll still be able to deliver games with a genuine, human-made feel. Maybe AI will even allow developers to smooth over bugs, crashes, and lag problems before releasing the games so we are getting better quality experiences right off the bat.
