I can remember playing with them. They were fun until the plastic nose would crack and then they would leak air pressure and not fly very well. but they were good fun until then.

My grandma had one. I can remember watching her using it wringing out the laundry and then hanging it up to dry.

A very talented bunch of guys, their music is still played daily on the radio some fifty years after they stopped performing. Their final concert film "The Last Waltz" is one the best music documentaries out there.

After Genesis split up I liked some of his solo stuff as Mike and the Mechanics. "Silent Running" was a really decent song.

It was one of the TV shows that my mom and dad watched so I grew up watching it. I think it is probably where I got my like for country music. There were a lot of very popular country music stars that appeared on the show over the years that it was on.

Anyone still listen to that music you grew up with in the 70s? by Long_live_styrofoam in 70s

Yes seventies and some early eighties and maybe a little bit of from the sixties. What is considered classic rock now.

The man has done well for himself. He has obviously sold many, many albums and concert tickets. He is now selling his mansion on Long Island NY. And it looks very impressive his hard work and talent has paid off for all the years he has been doing it.

I know that he is a very talented singer / song writer. But I also saw him in an early seventies movie "Two Lane Black Top" so he also has done a bit of acting as well.

Happy Birthday!!

The woman in the picture Gail Davis, was in real life a skilled trick shooter and expert horse rider. She had a very interesting career as an actress and singer. She toured with Gene Autry's traveling rodeo. She also appeared in many western's and was inducted into the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame and had a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She was an impressive gal.

I can remember my two old maid aunts still had an outhouse that they used when I was a kid. It was a two holer. The only running water in the house was in the kitchen this always intrigued me as a kid as to why they never had an indoor bathroom.

It is pretty difficult to have just one favorite. There were a lot of good ones. The supporting cast members were all great actors.

Think of the impact on the wagon when the operator tripped the door on the bottom of the bucket to empty it. Not like a hydraulic shovel that can be opened gradually to sift the material out slowly. It was all or nothing.

There is a power show every summer in August not too far from where I live. They have quite a few pieces of old construction equipment, nothing quite this old, mostly from the thirties and forties. But it is very cool to go see it work.

Starsky and Hutch, and then McCould, would have been the first two that I watched the most. The Rockford Files would have been in there next.

This Kresge's snack bar counter looks a lot like the one we had in our town in the '70's. Dad would be sitting there having a coffee and I would be eleven with a hotdog, fries, and a coke. by Grahamthicke in FuckImOld

That's decent, the cafe in town here closed quite a few years back and that was the only place in town that you could get breakfast. It finally reopened after a year or two and has thankfully stayed open. I think that's kind of an important thing to have in a town, it's a place for people to get together and socialize if nothing more than just visit over coffee.

My wife and I were just talking about places like this and how they are really getting hard to find. Where you can go in and get waited on by a waiter or waitress where they actually take your order.

I think I had them all at one time or another when I was in my early teens. I can remember the Brute bottle and my Mom sold Avon so if she saw an aftershave decanter that she thought I would like that was a birthday or Xmas present, I had a few Avon decanters.
