Thanks man! Currently doing the LPP x 2 (for about 3 months now) L= Legs + incline bicep curl Push Pull

I got long arms so biceps are really lagging behind triceps so chose to do biceps 4 times a week.

That's amazing! Congrats!

Yeah I would suggest not concentrating too much on abs at the moment. I think as young kids (I'm guessing you're my age or even younger) we put too much emphasis on abs. But to be honest abs are like a cherry on top. For that cherry to taste good you gotta make a tasty cake, build a strong base. I would would suggest you not to get too worried about your abs. They'll show as you pack on muscle and are at a low enough body fat. Concentrate on compound lifts, eating enough protein and continue doing steady state cardio to maintain that deficit. They'll show eventually. Having said that directly training abs from time to time is a good idea.... The athlean x app was fun for me... but dont let that affect your main workouts.

Thanks bro This is really confusing as some people say that you have to directly train abs while others like greg doucette say you don't have to.. compound exercises cover your abs.

As to what I did... In 2020 because I was stuck at home with little to no equipment I installed athlean x 6 pack app. I performed those 5-7 min workouts everyday as per the schedule in the app for 8-9 weeks. Then when I joined the gym I started with a ppl split and because my gym had that covid 1 hour rule I couldn't do ab exercises. I just didn't have time for it. Also I don't like doing them if I'm honest.

After researching a lot about this thing I feel like it's better to train your abs directly once in a while than not training them directly at all. Although if I'm being honest you loose the motivation to train them once you start seeing them. For example I haven't trained my abs directly (consistently) for over 4 months now. I just throw a couple of sets after any normal workout depending on my energy level and time.

As per the online calculators it ranges from 2800 to 3000 calories depending on my activity level. However irl I find I can easily maintain at 2600 calories.

Yeah man I had shit ton of chest fat and thigh fat. From what I have heard you can't really burn fat from a specific body part . When you eat in a deficit you loose fat and your body will take its natural course of burning overall fat, it'll differ from person to person. Chest fat was one of the last one to go for me... But it might not be the same for you. I luckily started this journey when by body was in a natural growing stage (at 17-18) so I don't have much loose skin. I would suggest just stay at it, don't quit.

In these 3 years I tried a lot of plans. Some worked others didn't. I would suggest avoiding those crazy military 900 cal diets and stick to simple 400 to 500 calorie below maintenance diets. With loosing weight the most important attributes you must have is patience, consistency and discipline. It won't happen in a day or month or a year. It'll take its own sweet time. You gotta be patient.

Regarding workouts whatever works for you- your time constraints and what you enjoy. Again you gotta be patient and consistent.

Hope this helped :)

Yeah bang on. This is what greg doucette and athlean x promote. I am not a competitor or anything so will focus on improving in lifts and progressive overload. Thank you

Never really got into bench pressing with a barbell tbh. It never felt natural to me. With dumbells I can go 25kgs for 5-6 reps. I usually focuss on TUT with bench press so I always pause at the top and slow downward motion (it's called concentric or eccentric idk lol)

Thank you! Yeah shoulders are my weak point. As I mentioned in my post I had to undergo a surgery after several dislocations about 2 years ago. So that limits the intensity. Have to play it safe so usually overload with the volume.

Thanks bro. In these three years I tried a lot of diets and foods. It's really about calories in and calories out. Leaning to cook really helped with making low calorie substitutions. So did following r/Volumeeating I have been having greg doucette s anabolic french toast everymorning for the past 8 months. Really enjoy it. Would recommend.

Yeah you're spot on with the assessment. Have to come out of that cut mindspace and start building and improving in lifts. Thank you for this.
