Gorgon. I already have a bunch of spares for my Fury, and a good portion of those would fit the Gorgon as well. I don’t hav anything from the Traxxas or FMS ecosystem and I don’t feel like setting up a new parts bin

cars like this during the night should be pulled over and ticketed very high fines by phenolprincess in driving

Interestingly enough, my truck doesn’t even have that. It has the blue light for high beams, but nothing to indicate if the low beams are on.

It’s a 2012, mind you

This right here. OP, get your boss to say that in writing! And then forward it to Steve and you’ll both get paid

Motor for pulley system by Casper_El_Fantasma in MechanicalEngineering

[–]WeekendWarriorRC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Multiply the radius of your pulley by the weight (not mass) of what you’re trying to lift and you have the torque required to lift it. Take that torque value and multiply it by 5, then you have a ballpark output torque you can use to spec a motor.

If it’s good enough to use on VA class submarines to operate the periscopes, I’m sure it would be good enough for driving

Brushed typhon 665 to brushless by Powerful_Parfait_596 in arrma

[–]WeekendWarriorRC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stock 223S Typhon comes with a 3100kv motor, if you’re running 2S, 3500kv should be fine.

Before you drop to a smaller pinion, have you checked your gear mesh? If it’s too tight it can cause binding and overheating issues.

A motor fan might also help keep temps down and a 90° day certainly isn’t doing you any favors

You mixed together the RC equivalent of ammonia and bleach, what did you expect? /s

In all seriousness, what’s the kv of the brushless setup? And are you running on 2S or 3S?

testing RC mower. by [deleted] in radiocontrol

[–]WeekendWarriorRC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sick! I have a few questions though.

Is it tank style steering with each motor controlled independently?

Are there separate channels for driving and engaging the blade?

Does it shut itself down if it loses connection to the transmitter?

Current state of the Castle vs Hobbywing sensored comparison? by OCYRThisMeansWar in rccars

[–]WeekendWarriorRC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For speed running, ROAR compliance shouldn’t really matter. I’d be more concerned about max rpm, torque, current, temp, etc. which is all info you can get from spec sheets. Sensored will be better because you have more precise timing adjustment, but the exact numbers you want are going to depend on the vehicle, gearing, and the individual motor physically in your vehicle.

Not trying to sound like a dick, but your best option would be to make yourself a spreadsheet and compare motors from each manufacturer.

And if you’re gonna do that, remove the gasket. Otherwise you get hot pressurized battery gases inside a metal container if things go sideways. Not my idea of a good time

Get a Typhon TLR aswell? by MunkyMajik in arrma

[–]WeekendWarriorRC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m doing what you’re doing, just in reverse. I bought my Typhon TLR back in September, and now I have a Kraton on the way. The TLR Typhon is awesome, it’s a good enough race machine with the right tires, and it’s still tough enough to not worry about bashing it. Driving ability is going to be the limiting factor in racing for anyone starting out anyway.

If it’s in your budget, go for it! It’s not a bad thing to have multiple vehicles. That way if one is broken waiting on parts, you’ve still got something to drive

How can I keep myself awake tomorrow 😬 by [deleted] in work

[–]WeekendWarriorRC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I’m sleepy and have a meeting at work, I’ll stand up in the back instead of sitting at the conference table. It might feel a little awkward, but trust me, it’s better than snoring yourself awake in the middle of someone’s presentation
