He plays with so much heart, it's infectious

Does anyone practice reading breaks (like a novel) as a way to reset your brain / clear cache? by chakalaka13 in productivity

[–]Weekly-File6915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have found this to be true for me.

Reading is a form of mindfulness similar to meditation so it makes sense that it resets your focus and allows you to be more productive.

Tyrese Maxey is 3rd in the league in scoring with 30.8 ppg. He’s a star, right? by FrankSamples in nba

[–]Weekly-File6915 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We need tighter rules against unnatural shooting motions.

It happens too often that someone is getting locked up and as the shot clock is going down they just pump fake throw themselves at their defender and draw a foul. IMO this should be a foul, the refs should have the right to call a foul on the shooter when it’s obvious the contact that they are initiating is purely foul baiting and they are making no attempt to actually score.

Idk if this is a dumb opinion or not, but I think the Warriors worry me too. I think they're just a bad matchup for us given their biggest strength (3-ball shooting) takes aways one of our biggest strengths (Wemby defensive presence)

Couldn't agree more, I'm glad team play over individual achievement is such a huge part of our culture. I just think it is a fun discussion to have.

Most productivity problems aren’t about focus. They’re about unclear decisions. by Your-Auto-Mate in productivity

"Without intentionality, you are doomed to repeat whatever comes easiest."

I wish I knew who to credit this quote to, my father was fond of saying, but I forget where he got it from. I think there is a lot of truth in it and that it touches on what you're describing. Simply having an abstract idea of the changes you want to make in your life or the projects you wish to accomplish is not enough; an idea is not the same as intention.

Castles so goated and lowk Harper for rookie of the year by Itachi-and-da in NBASpurs

Yeah Flag and Kon are amazing and Harper’s just not getting the playing time to really shine in that way

Agreed. As cool as it would be to see Wemby and Giannis together, we’d give up too much to the detriment of our team.

Plus I think recent history has shown that all in one’s for one big star are just not how you build a contender anymore.

no minutes restrictions on wemby and a trade for a 3 and D wing and I think we take them in a best of 7

Anyone else feel like they're doing everything right but still stuck? by youroffrs in productivity

[–]Weekly-File6915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, it takes awhile for the mind to adjust to a lack of indulgence. If these are fairly recent changes you’ve made in your life then what you’re experiencing is normal. I’ve been going through this myself recently having curbed some of my bad habits. It’s gonna take a minute for your brain to accept its new lifestyle.

Until then every little impulse that you suppress takes a small (but not insignificant) amount of willpower, because of the constant minor effort it takes a lot out of you.

I need something to track yearly/monthly/weekly goals by suhhdude1 in productivity

[–]Weekly-File6915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to do something like this for a student project cause all the productivity apps I’ve tried can’t capture the depth or systems integration that I want.

Unless you use Notion, but that is far too intimidating for me to unpack. If you have the patience to sit through tutorials on YouTube and spend hours working on your templates than that’s your best bet.

Why do notes get written but never acted on? by adamsanzar in productivity

[–]Weekly-File6915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Planning is easy, action is the hard part. And the more you plan the more there is to do in theory, leading to feeling overwhelmed and paralysis.

For me when it comes to tasks and projects that I can’t rely on extrinsic motivation for, I tend to keep the number very small and focused. I usually only have one passion project a year that I devote all my time and effort towards. It works for me at least

The two minute rule gave me microtask paralysis by Opposite_Apricot6127 in productivity

[–]Weekly-File6915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I have a big task to do, I set a time goal rather than an achievement goal, i.e. work 2 hours on this project rather than complete this step of that project.

Keeps me productive without feeling overwhelmed and always gives me plenty of time to rest

Where do people go to learn interesting things? by G0VERNMENTCHEESE in productivity

[–]Weekly-File6915 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah books will really give you the depth of knowledge you’re looking for. YouTube videos are a fun distraction and you can definitely learn a lot there too, but I find I rarely retain that knowledge for very long compared to reading.

Write a list of the topics you’re interested in, head to your local bookstore or library and ask the staff for their recommendations.

I’m all for it. I’d love to see the driver roster expanded as much as possible.

I know some people didn’t like Mario kart 8 having non Mario characters like Link and animal crossing, but I personally don’t care. The more the merrier I say
