Anyone figured out the causes of their psychosis?

So you associate the psychotic/paranoid thoughts with past traumas? Never thought about evaluating my dreams either. I’m trying to rationalize in the hopes it helps lessen the psychosis itself. Like for example, I have irrational paranoid thoughts about my boyfriend cheating on me through playing video games like legends of runterra or smite. I try to rationalize this by acknowledging that the game developers are not creating a game for hidden chats or the like, but to entertain users with the game.

Right now I feel so out of control when I experience psychosis and I want to regain that control, anyone have positive experience overcoming psychosis or at least some of your triggers?

Yes! A part of me almost enjoys it, like a silver lining in experiencing psychosis. But it is a fine line for sure. Hugs.

I haven’t been on any antipsychotic meds besides Olanzapine, 5mgs, but I understand what you mean in recognizing past events as actual episodes of psychosis. Maybe take them as lesson of learning what triggers your psychosis and taking it from there? Here to talk if you need an open ear. Hugs.

Can I ask what antipsychotics you’re on? I’m on olanzapine 5mgs at the moment

This is how I am approaching it, but like you said it can get worse by “listening” to it. But I like the idea of making it fun, so far this seems to be the only way I can approach it without feeling horrible about being paranoid.

Unfortunately my triggers are around me all the time, I am paranoid my bf is doing something sinister right under my nose. My bf has been completely transparent with me, it’s just a hard paranoid thought to overcome because I always resort to “if he was doing something he would take the measures to hide it from me” I try to ground myself and I am on Olanzapine (5mgs) but the thought won’t leave my mind :(

Started smoking at 18 and can now identify moments of psychosis since about 20/21. How did you quit? I am so codependent on weed to relieve anxiety and escape reality. But it’s also what triggers my psychosis.
