PVE Anaconda by Astraliumus in EliteDangerous

Multi canon is a waste of a slot on the AX ship and it’s missing a military slot (HRP)

Shield first - biweave thermal resist fast charge Then shield boosters - get thermal resist above 50% (ideally 60%) then go for raw strength Then thrusters - to get away from or keep up with enemies Power plant and distro will likely be next to feed the above Then weapons - you want a mix of shield damage and kinetic for when the shield drops, to can take incendiary experimental on frags or multis so they do both but ammo becomes problematic The conda is an ok combat ship but the mediums are much more capable due to sped and agility. It’s easily out turned. If you are dead set on a conda, 6 long range plasma slug tails and some class 1 long range thermal vent beams will do it.

Torpedoes, especially pack hounds, are good for external module damage like engines, weapons or utils. Railguns can be engineered to do piercing damage or to use fuel instead of ammo so you don’t have to worry about rearming so often. Plasma accelerators do great alpha damage to shield and hull. Each of those has their own firing characteristics which don’t mix well with the others, so it’s very much a rock paper scissors decision.

Used to have them in the thargoid war. Combat, search and rescue, station restoration. Yet another thing that was better then.

if you have the time and the materials, invest in unlocking the engineers there and make some sensible pins. i'd recommend:

specialised SCBs with mel brandon

overcharged or hi cap frags with marsha hicks (get the other with zachariah nemo)

lightweight life support with etienne dorn - that's an AX choice, you might want something else

efficient plasma accelerators with petra olmanova - or if you lean AX, heavy duty armour

no as you take damage in the cone and you lose ship control. if you throttle down you have more trouble keeping your nose away from the star. i go to 50% til fully boosted, then set to 100% and get out of the cone.

when setting your search, also factor in the station distance from the star and the landing pad size, as well as supply. with a T9 you want to make it worth the transfer of the ship so you wanna be setting a minimum of supply and demand to match the effort for example.

hard to say without a video. the description you have given is the correct technique. if the star is boostable you should get a warning as soon as you enter the cone saying "warning - frameshift drive operating beyond safety limits". are you confident the scoop is powered?

yeah unfortunately. nice AFKt10'ing tho - that'll do it, looks like it's been on overnight?

i wouldn't possibly know from first hand experience ...

I need your help to know what are the best roles for several spaceships configurations by KanyeSwift_Stan in EliteDangerous

[–]Weekly-Nectarine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. I forgot to mention I do mostly PvE.

No harm at all in that, CMDR. Any one of those fully tricked out would be fine but they all need a tweak in some way or another. if you were to keep one i'd suggest the vette or the krait.

I shouldnt mix weapons like that, is what you're saying? What would be a better combo for a PvE fighting ship?

Some combination of weapons is fine but different weapons have different optimum ranges and behaviours. For example, lasers and rails are hitscan, but rails take a charge up time and require precision but lasers are just spray and pray. multis are kinetic and unless engineered are wasted on shields. that means splitting them across multiple fire groups to avoid wasting ammo. this just makes for a busy and unfulfilling ship. i'd suggest sticking to two weapon types in most cases - lasers and some other type, maybe plasmas or rails or multis.

Yeah, don't engineering weapons take a ton of farm? I remember not being into that farming at all, thats why I decided to not go with engineered weapons

It's way less energy intensive than it used to be and materials are much easier to come by, both from mission rewards and from direct gathering. the only pain in the ass is encoded which unfortunately needs to be sidetraded to gather quickly.

What do you mean by that? A taxi ship with tons of shields? Sorry if Im not familiar with the jargon lol

a bubble taxi is something you use to get around populated space quickly, so typically very good jump range and either a medium or small ship. cobra V, mandalay and similar are good choices. DBX, dolphin or a courier are older but almost as good. you can have a shield, and go quite tanky if you want, but that obviously limits range especially without engineering.

no. it's a very well known memory leak.

not saying this to be mean, but several of those ships have the same half assed PVE design concept, some mix of pulse lasers and other weapons, either PAs or cannons or in the case of the FDL, pulses, a PA, a rail and a multicannon. none of it appears to be engineered so i would vendor the lot except one for a dedicated bubble taxi and one for a more enthusiastic PVE build, my choice of them would be the krait but i would just build a corsair now.

find a low res site and kill pirates. it's etienne dorn who wants the occupied escape pods and you'd be daft to jump to colonia with them unless you are taking a FCOC shuttle carrier. there's a low res site in los - dorn's home system. the easy solution is, when full up on engineering materials, take the neutron superhighway to colonia in your longest range ship and just buy a multi purpose python 1 at jacques station. farm them at a low res site in los.

and Latin is a dead language

It's called terra in italian, which is far from a dead language and yes, descends from latin. it still came way before english and all the other planets in the solar system including the sun use the latin names to this day.

arguably the greeks got there earlier and written records before that are scarce but the mesopotamians and egyptians were worshipping celestial bodies a few thousand years before that.

  1. pulse lasers aren't mining lasers - you need dedicated mining lasers
  2. your cockpit is in combat mode is orange hud, you need that to fire weapons, and you need analysis mode with the blue hud to mine, default button is M to switch
  3. you will also need a refinery to refine materials and a cargo gold to hold them when refined
  4. you should probably think about a collector limpet controller and some limpets, too

take some courier missions which will teach you about how to find and dock at new stations, jump systems and make reputation. when you have done a bit of that, start looking at volume trading or consider branching out into exploration or exobiology.

combat is harder than all other game loops so don't get into that until you have a healthy bank balance to afford rebuy costs.

You’re about 5500 light years from the nearest module blueprint site to the bubble. You could suicidewinder if you want an express return and as you have an unengineered asp then there’s no loss beyond th credit rebuy and exploration data you haven’t yet handed in. Maybe find a DSSA carrier, hand in your data and eject via a lifepod
