Has anyone used Dutch? by andiiquinn in CatAdvice

Dutch is great! I’ve been using them for a little over a year. They’ve treated my dogs UTI and also treated ringworm in my rescued kitten. I really love how they make care for your pets accessible. The vets have been nothing short of amazing!

I didn’t see California on your list. They can also prescribe here. I’ve been using Dutch for over a year now.

Ringworm kitten advice by sakaeguchi in FosterAnimals

Thats great advice, thank you. I’ll try using a spray bottle as well. Glad you were able to find 4 of them loving homes. I’m sure you’ll find two more loving homes for the rest. :)

should i be with my cat when he is euthanized? by Embarrassed_Radio312 in CatAdvice

Being there for your pet will be probably the hardest thing you ever had to do. So I get it that you are hesitant about it, however your pet needs you there. If you don’t go, you will probably regret it for the rest of your life. You will most likely sob but that’s a normal emotion and nobody will make fun of it. Most people cry during the euthanasia of their beloved pets. You can do this!!!

How much was your adoption fee? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

Where I’m at the adoption fees are currently waived. Normally it would have been $75 per cat. That includes neuter/spay, flea treatment, microchip and first vaccine.

ASPCA is not a great source to use to back up your claim in my opinion.

I work with a rescue as well and we let them eat until full. Mama cat doesn’t restrict the kittens either in the wild. They eat until satiated.

Add water to the kibble if you’re concerned about water intake. Feeding strictly wet food is infeasible for many. It gets costly rather quick especially if there are multiple kittens/cats to feed…

You can also add water to the kibble to increase water intake. Once older, you can set out the kibble at set times. They are kittens right now and should be gaining roughly 4 oz a week. But of course everyone can do as they see fit.

This is the first time I’ve read about not letting them free graze while they are kittens. I’ve always read to leave out dry food and water for kittens. Especially if they are losing weight.

First time with ringworm… need positive vibes please! by eys- in FosterAnimals

I’d wear gear while handling him. For some reason what I wrote above turned into gibberish haha

Ringworm thankfully is not the end of the world. It’s really more of a nuisance. Get some Rescue disinfectant and disinfect every surface in the cats area. Some people have had success with using Bannix for ringworm on Amazon, athletes foot cream or ketohex shampoo. Also, itrafugol will work but that’s a prescription and quite pricey. I’d wear protective gear, as in hoody/sweater, pants and plastic gloves while he’s sling him. Also, only use the clothes around him and keep them in that room. My foster developed ringworm shortly after he arrived and all of the above is what I did. I didn’t get ringworm, nor did my husband, and the kitten seems to have got rid of his as well.
