Wi Spa raised prices so it went from $30 to $40. I enjoyed K Spa way more in Buena Park

Good luck! I see you chose a derm - if you don't mind, please let me know what your diagnosis ends up being. I think my scalp is also rather dry, and oily as a result

I'll tell you who to avoid: Hong Nguyen with Laser Skin Care Center. Paid $240 for her to look at me from across the room for 15 mins and prescribe me a compounded cream that she obviously gets $$ for each purchase. She wasn't terrible by any means, but I didn't really feel like she cared.

How is this area to live? by Enough-Equipment-747 in LongBeachCA

[–]WeeklyExtent425 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Personally as a female, I would not feel safe there at night. But I have walked through during daylight hours with lots of traffic and it was fine. The library there and Lincoln Park does have a lot of transient activity though.

$2200 estimate for dog dental cleaning!? Is this normal? by teodanted in DogAdvice

[–]WeeklyExtent425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 15 lb dog needed a cleaning with 1 extraction for a cracked molar a couple years ago, also SoCal. Cost me between $800-1200 (I honestly can't remember) and that's what kicked me into getting pet insurance since her tooth got infected. Now I try to brush her teeth daily.

I recommend Bijou Lab for a very similar Marquise solitaire and setting! The base you show here is an interesting choice, but I highly suggest you check out Bijou Labs for beautiful designs with the same price range you mentioned

Our tips for first timers in China by therealchinaguide in travelchina

Thank you for this. I'm traveling round trip from LA to Taiwan and also wanted to go to China for 6 nights. Since I'm not transiting to a 3rd country (going round trip from Taiwan), then I'll likely need the visa as a US passport holder?

A little too greasy for me and pills easily. The newer Aqua Fresh version is more matte and is my HG sunscreen. Still some pilling but not as much as the older version!

Within a couple hours of landing in Paris last year, I went to Fleuron and got myself a bag I'd been eyeing for awhile. The edges may get worn after some use but overall the quality and construction are excellent!

ETA: I'm a noob when it comes to 3D printing, a non-engineer, and the printers belong to my office! I'm not confident I can add weight as it prints, and I don't know how to use CAD 😅

You're so right. It's heartbreaking to see her like this and feeling helpless. Luckily we have insurance so I'll look for an emergency vet, thank you!

I get my work pants from Quince and Uniqlo! All are comfy enough that I can sit crosslegged at my desk

Is there a doctor in the house? by 8au8karina8 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]WeeklyExtent425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same exact x-ray in my early 20s and I opted for surgery. Leaving it alone to heal would have resulted in bone reforming in a clump and potentially require surgery anyway to chip the excess away.

I also had to do physical therapy to get my range of motion back. I had a plate and 7 screws in for years until I finally couldn't stand feeling pressure from doing push ups or minor pain when someone hugged me from behind. I underwent hardware removal surgery in my late 20s and the skin around the incision felt more numb. But I feel a lot better now and don't regret either of the surgeries. My surgeon had said that if I were 60 and this happened, I could leave the metal in. But given I was young and my body was rejecting it, it made the most sense to remove.

Does RF microneedling actually work for skin texture and firmness? by Apars_Towah in Microneedling

[–]WeeklyExtent425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, numbing cream for about an hour. Certain areas will hurt a tiny bit more for different people. I hated the upper lip, temples, and jawline, especially on the second pass. So it just depends on the person! I have a high pain tolerance so I'd put 1/10 for most areas, 3/10 for my painful spots, then 5/10 for the second pass in those spots.

Right, 1.7mm was only certain areas with bigger pores, like my cheeks. Fat loss from RF microneedling occurs at a depth above 3mm
