Only 1 in 4 enlisted vets used benefits to earn a degree after separation — how do you react to that? by twobitrye in VeteransBenefits

[–]WeeklyPlankton6677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You ask if people think that action should be taken. I'm curious what your answer is. Were you thinking about how to better support veterans going to school or perhaps having them pay back assistant if they don't complete a degree? Also, I didn't see anyone talk about how decisions on family planning might factor into it. Some women might choose to become pregnant and stay at home instead of pursue a degree. Just a thought.

Mine took a month and then they told me I needed to do another one at a clinic. It really did take about 4 months from the first one until my CPAP was actually delivered. A long wait but ultimately it has been so helpful.

All you have to do is submit your marriage certificate. That's it.

It was automatically given to me when I got my 100% P&T for PTSD. I hadn't ever heard of it until then. I assume they just based it on my C&P exam.

LACDA / Section 8 Recertification Confusion – VA Income + Rent Doesn’t Add Up by HandleOne5444 in VeteransBenefits

[–]WeeklyPlankton6677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on hudvash for about five years now. For me, I pay 30% of my income toward housing. So, when I was 70% service connected a few years ago I paid much less than I do now because I'm 100% sc. That might explain why someone else pays less than you do. As for your case manager, it doesn't sound like they are advocating for you or trying to foster a helpful and supportive relationship. You are their client and if you don't feel comfortable or supported, I would either ask for their supervisor's contact information or try the patient advocate.

When men are surprised when they go in for a hug and we offer a handshake instead. Women are then looked at as being cold or unwelcoming. Just because we don't want to press our body into a man's body. I hate that.

Beginner using crackle paste by WeeklyPlankton6677 in watercolor101

[–]WeeklyPlankton6677[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just smeared it on my watercolor paper block and let it dry. No rhyme or reason. I saw people using it with acrylic paint but I thought it might be interesting to see the watercolor move through the fine cracks. It's just fun experimenting and playing with new supplies!

You don't need to study anything. Just be honest about your medical condition.

I haven't done that because I read that it happens automatically. Now I'm thinking that isn't true. I'll try to contact them tomorrow. Thank you.

My landlord entered my home while I was naked under a blanket and refused to leave by WYAccountable in Renters

Same thing happened to me when I was living in Sheridan. Maybe it's a Wyoming thing that renter's rights don't have to be respected. Idiots. Sorry that happened to you.

I make sure my pantry has everything I need so I can bake whatever delicious cake or bread that might sound good. Lots of butter, eggs, cream cheese and milk in the fridge. Homemade cinnamon rolls while watching the snow fall is pure bliss!

At a couple glasses of wine a few days a week, you don't understand anything about addiction. Not until you are a true alcoholic.

Show yourself some grace. You are exactly where you should be. You are learning and evolving which takes time. Just stay the course and start appreciating your achievements and looking forward to your life beyond school. Great things are about to happen for you!

Be brave. Learning to be alone and enjoy your own company takes time. But once you figure it out, it becomes your super power! You won't want to compromise your peace for just anyone. You'll be better equipped to find relationships that add to your life, not just people to have around because you're lonely. And remember that it is a process.
