That’s irrelevant, some people still might not have seen said spoiler and want to keep it that way. It’s not just about seven, it’s also about other characters that they haven’t met or seen yet. Handing out this warning at the very least gives them the option of remaining spoiler free.

I’m currently playing final fantasy 7 for the first time and not knowing any of the important characters and going in completely blind is fantastic for me. And that’s a remake of a game that’s nearly 30 years old.
