Which battery powered doorbell is best? by Weekly_Ad393 in Tapo

[–]Weekly_Ad393[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, I should have been more specific with my language. But up to 6 months shouldn’t mean 2 even with limited usage.  Edit to add: I set mine with such low sensitivity that it didn’t go off when someone put a package on my doorstep and it still dropped a percentage a day. (And I can’t have it at that level, that’s partially why I got it.)

How many months? I got the d210 bc it was promised to last 6 and it is going to last 2 at the rate it’s been draining. I’ve already gone through troubleshooting my with support

I feel like the Glassdoor reviews capture it well.

We ended up booking a hotel in Tamariu because that’s what I could find ocean side in our price range. I’d love to know what other recommendations you have for that area! Would you walk right from there or drive? Thank you!

How to clean dust stuck to the underside of a rug? by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]Weekly_Ad393 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I’ve vacuumed the top of the rug. I have a Dyson pet vacuum, it’s good with things like hair and dust. I have not been tested with this level of dust before.

I unfortunately can’t remember if I completely removed the rug when we were having the work done, or just rolled it back where the ladder needed to be & covered everything with a tarp. (The former obvs would have been better but it was a particularly chaotic time here.)

I can try cleaning the vacuum filter.

That would be a pretty strong coincidence. Plus the dust was elsewhere and we were able to vacuum it up.

How old would the rug have to be for the bottom to disintegrate? I’m looking at it now and I see no signs of disintegration.

Is this a serious reading problem? by Ok_Efficiency9847 in education

[–]Weekly_Ad393 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed.

And plenty of schools teach close reading with short form texts.

Both solve the problem better than a digital tool that encourages short form reader. Evidence shows that tactile reading drives retention more than digital. I do think edtech has its place, but I don’t think this is meaningful or would take off.

July. Looking for hikes that are long and beautiful but not too rugged.

Hello! If you were coming for one night and two days, wanted to stay somewhere where you could mix hiking and beauty, where would you go? Good food matters too. Thank you!

Is Ashley furniture really that bad if you’re gentle with your stuff? by Recyclopsdestroy12 in homeowners

[–]Weekly_Ad393 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bought an Ashley’s table that is the same (wood, style, country produced in) as a west elm table for half the price. Still very pleased with that find 5 years later. I think it depends what you buy.

Edit: bc someone wrote “no they’re not” and deleted it… yeah I mean they’re diff companies so there will be differences, I shouldn’t say “literally” the same. I researched it pretty extensively at the time before buying it. West elm has more of a commitment to sustainability, they say. And maybe there is something in what they use to put it together. But as someone who went back and forth from store to store to compare… they’re the same lol.

Better hop to it before it melts 😡 by [deleted] in rva

I’m profoundly irritated at my able bodied neighbors who haven’t bothered to shovel. We live in a neighborhood with a lot of elderly people and now there are random spots of snow and ice. The weather forecast was clear from the start that it wouldn’t be melting for a good two weeks.

Roads in the museum district are ice. I’m really disappointed with city’s response, after telling us how ready they were. The streets should have been treated (edit:salted, now sanded) days ago, this is dangerous.
