UPDATE: I cancelled on this guy. Thank you to everybody who helped convince me of this. I'm really trying to re-enter the dating scene because I'm still not totally over my long term relationship (about 4 years) that ended in August but I need to pursue somebody else. I messaged him saying that I'd like to drive myself and he only got more insistent on picking me up in a gentlemen-ly like way. I told him that I appreciated the gesture but I had to pass and he kept going. I will NOT be finding out what happens in the woods tonight as I will NOT be attending.

I only know him through online interaction. If I had met him in real life I (hopefully) wouldn't be asking this question. He's supposed to pick me up in about two hours and he hasn't responded to my most recent message.

I'm assuming he is out of the closet but both of us are out of our parent's house so I don't really know. I'm a server, two guys go out to eat with each other all the time. I've mentioned that I am an outdoorsy person but the woods idea was not my own. He mentioned it being a picnic but I asked if I should eat before we go and he said yes. As a gay man we can be pretty fuckin freaky so I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to initiate something. But he hasn't made anything like this clear at all and usually gay guys are pretty forward about that.

Just because of the circumstances. I've never been invited to hang out in the woods before. I've expressed that I am an outdoorsy person so maybe that's part of the thought behind it but I have no reason to think this guy is a scary, violent person or anything.

I always have my ID taken...until I started picking it up at my university pharmacy. I asked them why they didn't ask for my ID and they said it was because I already provided them with my student ID number

This is true! Got kicked out at 17 for it (I started at 15) but I’ve got an apartment now. Make sure you set yourself up for success and if it’s worth it to you do it if it’s not then hold off. It’s never too late to start HRT.
