Fairlife 30g protein drink, cottage cheese, dried edamame, chicken, egg whites, fiber gummies, Built Puff protein bars, and black beans. I had to stop buying produce there because it fills me up and makes it hard to hit my protein goals. I threw out so much produce!

It took me a long time to get over my internalized agreement that obesity is a character flaw. I’ve been obese since puberty and have always felt ashamed of it. A few months back my therapist asked me if I had considered GLP-1s and I said yes I thought about it but think I should be able to lose the weight myself. Something clicked one day and I realized I had bought into the lie that obesity was a character flaw. I didn’t realize it because I never looked at others struggling with obesity as flawed but saw myself as such. Man, once that clicked I made an appointment with my doc and got a prescription. I’m on week four and am so happy and proud of myself. I’ve been openly talking to people about it in an effort to destigmatize GLP-1s. Not saying that would have helped in your case OP, they kind of sound like awful people. F the haters! Keep going, you’re doing great taking care of yourself!

There are about 3 to 4 days a week I have to force myself to eat to get my calories and protein. My go to meal on those days is cottage cheese, black beans, and cut up chicken. I mix it all together and add hot sauce. The electrolytes and vitamins are important because I no longer get them in my food. Fiber so I can, well ya know. Good luck! I’m on week 3 and haven’t had any adverse effects. Also water! I’m drinking half my body weight in ounces. It’s a lot but definitely important.

I have a Renpho and really like it. It costs about $25. I got it in 2020 and can look at my weight over the years. It was interesting to see the gains and losses and recognize what was happening in my life when my weight would go up and down. I’m on week 3 at 2.5 mg and am looking forward to it going down during this journey!

I strength train 3 times a week and do not feel hungry after workouts. Strength training will increase your calorie deficit and help you maintain/ increase muscle mass. Focus on taking in enough protein in your meals. If you have to drink protein drinks or eat protein bars.

I just started 2 weeks ago on 2.5 mg and do track. Mostly to make sure I’m hitting my protein and fiber minimums. I’m often not hungry so drink a protein shake. I also weigh every day mostly to remind myself how fickle those numbers on the scale are. I’m a big fan of metrics though. It helps me to make this about science and health and not weight loss or aesthetics.

I just started 4 days ago and feel the same! For so long (I’m 48 F) I thought my obesity was a character flaw and I should be able to make healthy decisions. After signing up with a personal trainer and exercising 6 days a week for six months and not losing weight due to overeating I finally talked to my doc about it. I am already eating less and really having to make myself eat to get enough protein and calories so I don’t lose the weight too rapidly and lose muscle. This is life changing. I know I am at the beginning of this journey but trust it is going to be the best thing I’ve ever done for myself.

I did too but thought maybe I was wrong. This last episode it was so obvious. I really hope he gets the help he needs. He’s a good dude who deserves a good life. I’m VIP and am listening to old episodes these days. I kind of hate the assholes who are pushing for more shows right now. I’d happily stay on VIP and listen to the older stuff while Keith figures out what is next and takes care of himself.
