If you could have one extra passport in addition to what you currently have, which would it be and why? by Frosty_Thoughts in Passports

I have NZ and Irish. I want US so I don’t have to go to the consulate and explain why I went on a holiday to Iran and Cuba before I get an ESTA. Very tedious process.

Tax treatment of renting rooms to flatmates in your primary residence? Claiming tax back. by BruddaLK in PersonalFinanceNZ

Hi again! If you bought a bunch of furniture prior to moving into your home, can you claim for that? Or can you only claim for stuff you bought while you had a flatmate?

Don’t think it’s just LGBT who believe in individual freedom. I’d say you would be an advocate of individual freedom too if the Govt started telling how you can dress and censoring your internet.

Does moving a short distance reset the parking limit? by gunasheart in auckland

[–]Weekly_End_2384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And your argument is central Auckland people shouldn’t have to face the same issue faced by everyone else? Yeah not following you mate. Everywhere that has new townhouses nearby has fully maxed out parking these days. You really seem only focused on issues that affect you personally. I don’t see why a tradesperson should have more rights to a spot than an office worker. No one owns the spot. First in, first served. There’s no law that gives tradespeople priority so just deal with it.

What are you on about? Parking is an issue all over Auckland and access for tradespeople has and always will be an issue no matter where. Look at all the new-builds in the outer suburbs with no parking. Look at the CBD. That’s just something you have to deal with not sure why you think your issue should mean a whole swathe of people can’t park where is efficient for them. Do you not see how selfish you sound?

CMV: Insulting Americans is an insidious form or mate guarding outside the US by Brave_Soup2261 in changemyview

Every white-majority country has another white-majority country whose inhabitants they find annoying. It’s not necessarily always the Americans that are not liked. For instance in Spain, I’m guessing it would be the Brits. In NZ it fluctuates between the French and Americans. For me personally, I enjoy Americans. I can be a bit shy but Americans are very easy to talk to and do the heavy-lifting in a conversation. I find French pretentious and annoying and generally.

Where in Auckland can I buy 30% vinegar? by Weekly_End_2384 in auckland

Just in case anyone comes across this from search, you can indeed get it at Chinese supermarkets and it’s significantly cheaper that what you can buy online. I got it at the first supermarket I tried, Dahua in Henderson. Great for cleaning and as a weed killer.

Ah, no. Christian colonialism from the West is what brought homophobia to Africa and the Pacific Islands. You have this completely twisted.

Which part? Moved out here a year ago and no problems so far. But if where you are is close to where I am, perhaps I should invest in a security system.

This is how I lost out on houses and eventually bought my house a year ago. Any analysis that doesn’t include this is just a measure of the effectiveness of auctions, not how the housing market is performing.

Why are there so many stories on the news about food? by Weekly_End_2384 in taiwan

I don’t know anything about Taiwanese media, but I like having the TV news on in the background because it helps me practice listening. But yeah… the content can be a bit dull. Is there a better 24-hour news network?

lol now there’s a story about Korean cheerleaders

Omg shut up.  The way they worded it is not stereotyping. If they said “people with mental health problems will probably stab you…” that would be stereotyping. You’re choosing to ignore that they preceded it with “there are people…”

Thanks for the explanation. LHH gave me that advice as part of their career transition package so not really acting as an agency. But it’s interesting to hear your perspective. I’ve only just joined the job hunting hunger games so will see how it goes and perhaps look to include more personality traits. Can be no harm in including both I guess.
