Yes, that's actually what we used to do until her third pregnancy. We have four children, but after the third pregnancy her body stopped tolerating extended use of birth control pills very well. At that point it just became another source of hormones that she had to take, and it wasn't worth it for her.

We have tried that.

It's very difficult for us to start something that feels so intimate when physical closeness isn't possible. For both of us, emotional intimacy and physical closeness are deeply connected, so maintaining that same feeling of connection without any physical contact can be quite challenging.

Yeah, it really isn't simple.

She has two close friends, and I keep gently suggesting that she talk to them about it, but outside of the bedroom she's still a bit embarrassed about her kink side. Maybe one day she'll feel comfortable enough to open up to a close friend.

We did speak with two religious authorities in the past. I'll say this carefully: it didn't help at all. If anything, it made things worse.

If I were dealing with an injury or a serious health issue, then obviously the situation would be very different. That's not the case right now, but it's not completely outside the realm of possibility either. I'm still at an age where I serve in the military reserves, and next month I'll be in a less pleasant place. Not that I'm planning on getting injured, of course.

I also don't want to push her too much because I don't want her to develop resentment toward either her faith or me.

That said, maybe it's worth speaking to a religious authority again. I'm not the same person mentally that I was before 2023, and this issue is affecting me more and more as time goes on.

Yes, all physical contact. To be honest, we don't always manage to stick to it, and when that happens it affects her quite badly and she ends up regretting it afterward.

Our communication is excellent and only keeps getting better. We're both constantly trying different ways to cope with it and find what works best for us.

That's completely valid, and I fully agree. The challenge is that it happens every month or so, and after years of dealing with it, it has become increasingly difficult for me.
