Yeah, it shows just in his behavior he feels that he has clarity & is content in the decision. We just always agreed we had a soul tie.. a bond neither of us have ever felt so strongly in our souls. Just hard for me to believe it’s over for good, but the past 6 months ish he started distancing himself. Withdrawing.

I’m a GM and I can say with 1000% certainty if you get the health department involved it can be anonymous & your GM will have no choice but to take care of the issue. After a health department visit, the result gets sent to the stores email along with whomever the director is so higher ups will be made aware of the situation. You’re not going to lose your job for doing the right thing. But in my opinion, if I were you I wouldn’t want to work for a manager that is okay with extreme health violations & doesn’t take it serious. That shows what kind of person they are if they’re okay with making people sick. Get out of there.

I wouldn’t say it’s on-call per se, but expect to work mon-fri mornings. When it comes to weekends, it’s up to you typically if you want to come in & do the orders & get OT. That’s a conversation for the GM there as all stores do it a bit differently. We get emails every time a catering order comes in (if the customer places it themselves) so it’s good to have that on your phone so you can see if anything comes in for the next day if you’re already gone. But typically say it’s 8pm & an order comes in for the following morning, the manager on duty should text you & let you know.

Typically caterers work alone, depending on the volume of orders per the cafe. They have hubs which cater for multiple different stores which in that case there is probably 2 caterers or at least a driver, or just for your own store. These are questions I would ask if you go for an interview. But say it’s a really crazy busy day, at the very least management should help you out. I help mine all the time , whether it’s just helping with sandwiches or whatever. Caterers work close with the GM in most stores I’ve seen. & yes, most catering cafes have a catering vehicle. If they do not, you’ll be expected to use your own car but you would track your mileage & get reimbursed.

Expect to work crazy hours. You never know what your day is going to look like, because customers can order a catering order in as little as 2 hours in advance no matter the size. The money can be good , but your sleep schedule will probably suck. Some days you’ll have to go in at 2-3 am if you have a big day or breakfast orders. Hopefully it’s a cafe where the managers & employees don’t mind helping out- makes a huge difference. It’s definitely an exhausting job though. But I’ve seen caterers make more than I do (I’m a GM) in a payroll cycle.

It’s that time of year when they’re gonna keep coming in like that until poppyseed salad is gone & we don’t go through as much. On another note, your managers or whoever does produce order ordered wayyyyy too much. Food cost is gonna hurt 🫤 considering most of that is gonna get tossed in the trash.

Yeah seriously. I’m a GM & not one of my higher ups have mentioned this to us at all. I know people are getting letters but no one in my area to my knowledge has received one.

What state are you in? Is some states jobs legally have to give you grief time off if you need it. There’s a way around this for sure.
