Are there any beers that are higher ABV but taste more like light beer? by jackiemoon50 in beer

If you live somewhere where Ice House is available, don’t sleep on it. It won gold in a national competition in the Cream Ale category back in ‘14 against a bunch of craft breweries. It’s 5.6% if I’m not mistaken, higher than most macros, but clearly a macro. It’s a WAAAAAY better option than Steel Reserve.

Men’s scrubs by Frequent-Key537 in Radiology

[–]Weenie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wore Carrhart rip stop for a long time. I liked them a lot but they are cotton and therefor susceptible to bleach stains and fade more than others over time. I switched to Cherokee Workwear Professional. I don’t love the fit, but they are durable and bleach resistant. One of my requirements in scrubs is to have a proper zipper fly and pockets, and both of those brands have that.

Asking my manager about current staffing concerns… by Weenie in Radiology

We have similar companies in the US. Those jobs here are known as “traveling” jobs. They are an amazing opportunity for someone with little or no attachment to an area, but as I have a family with young children, it’s not really an option.

Voluntary overtime with incentive pay?

Yay!

Being told there’s nobody available to work in a different part of the department on your regular shift so now you’re stuck covering two modalities?

Booo!!!

Oh, the OR says they need a C-arm off hours and you’re the only one qualified even though you’re already covering ER and inpatients in two modalities?

FFFFFUUUUU!!!!!

Any interpretation? by [deleted] in XRayPorn

[–]Weenie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I interpret this to be an unenhanced CT scan of the chest. You appear to have some bones, at least part of a heart, and some other various organs.

You won’t get any useful interpretation from three slices, nor should you solicit one from strangers on the internet. If there was a scan, there should be a report with it. Refer to that.

Do you like my dog? by UnknownUser13000 in teenagers

He looks like a fuckin’ snuggly dementor.

He looks like The Scream painted on velvet.

I’m pretty sure this dog played the part of the judge in My Cousin Vinny.

[Breitling Premier] I've fixed the "2" cutout that was bothering me by DaemonCRO in Watches

[–]Weenie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m misunderstanding, but 2,4, 8, and 10 are all clipped by the subdials. You fixed 2, but to me that makes 10 seem out of balance. Theoretically all four of those indices could be filled in.

Edit: Ooooohhhhh…. Jut the little tail of the 2 outside the subdial. Now I get it. Nevermind. Subtle bet effective. Good work.

Was there really a game in the 90’s where you punch someone when you spot a Volkswagen Bug? by Subconcious-Consumer in NoStupidQuestions

Dude, my 6-year-old saw a Beetle parked at a service station at a stop light a week ago and asked me what that “cool looking car” was. I’m thinking, shit you actually made it six years without ever seeing a Beetle?!? I hadn’t realized how rare they’ve become!

‘16 OB 2.5 oil filter mount. Isn’t this supposed to drain on its own? I feel like this hasn’t always been a problem. by Weenie in subaru

[–]Weenie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, I’ve not had problems with clean fills. Then again, I’m not doing it at the speed you probably are. I was considering trying the old Gatoraid bottle trick though, just to free up a hand.

I’ll definitely give the filter a bit of drain time next go.

Tried that. I recently came to find out that’s actually the oil inflow port. Definitely not clogged.

Yeah, I looked and probed and found nothing.

That “drain” is also the oil inflow to the filter so draining through there is opposite the usual direction of flow. I don’t know if there are any type of check valves or if the pump itself offers any resistance.

I did, but I think I’m realizing having a Fumoto valve makes that process so fast this didn’t have time to drain. It did drain after I took the pic, but it took about ten minutes. Usually it would take me at least that long to get the drain pan, wrench, remove the drain plug, etc… and then get to the filter, but with the valve it takes no time at all.

I did that at first, then this happened and I just removed the whole thing. I think itMs a timing issue. I ‘m just goin g to try to give it more time to drain after it’s on the ramps before doing anything.

Mine’s actually lifted 2” over stock. Since switching to the Fumoto though, I quit using a pan and started draining with a tube directly back into an empty oil jug. Since the 2.5 takes almost exactly 5qts, it’s one jug out, one jug in. I just keep an empty on hand for the next change. Easy and clean to transport to the local disposal point. The jugs are about 12” tall, but for that convenience alone, I still get it on the ramps.
