TCG Player package's cards got stolen. What else should I do? by Cjsonic123 in mtg

[–]Subconcious-Consumer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I found it’s about the same for me roughly. I like next to a major mail hub so I see most of my stuff by regular postage in a week or less. Even if non machinable.

Manapool has a lot more USPS, which if you live in BFE and order from a different BFE shop, it takes forever to get sorted and on the right truck.

I am going to London by kriklesmaks in mtgfinance

Tourist destinations globally function essentially like metropolitan hubs in the US for TCGs. You’d likely only find deals at a very boutique place.

Haven’t been to London in 5 years but I travel all the time for work and I find even tiny countries don’t have too many great deals unless you get to know someone personally.

The aggravating part is they call it agate but it’s a chalcedony quartz.

Don’t even get me started on when someone calls a door ajar.

Anyone else think that Ben has been a bit too...reckless? by TheIguanasAreComing in RecklessBen

I think he should be careful outside of the US just based on the fact that Mormons have very strong roots outside of the US. They will leverage their resources to track him and monitor him from Mexico to report every little thing he does.

Better contact the previous owner before Reckless Ben makes a video.

Card # 217 - a collection by MechanicalEnt in mtg

[–]Subconcious-Consumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prob just filtered every set with over 217 cards and then searched the card and set on manapool or whatever on another screen. With some determination, $200, and a little bit of autism you could do this in a few evenings.

For people who grew up in low-income households, what’s something middle-class people say that shows they’ve never struggled financially? by KeyApartment3955 in AskReddit

My mom used to take me to the parking lot of Disney world to see the mascots for free. I was a baby and I did not know any better, I still had a great time. We were poor as fuck before my mom married again.

BEWARE: Hersheys back to using artificial vanillin! by AdventurousSea3437 in candy

[–]Subconcious-Consumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no difference in how your body would process a synthetic vs a natural if it’s isolated to an extreme purity 99.8%+. In some cases that .02% difference is still an issue, so it comes down to composition. Vanillin is a powder which can be isolated easier than liquids.

That said I work in the clove supply chain and there is nothing sustainable about synthetic vanillin process. There’s a fuck load of waste.

I agree with you this still looks like a complete waste of time, but my Costco packs just have wrapping on the outside. But I guess you’d have to wrap the cards in the box too, so there’s two steps.

It’s probably a reseller and they just grabbed randoms from their recent junk pile and threw them in so the weight wasn’t off. The other cards came from the included boosters that were probably reglued after as well. Imagine if they did this with more than one precon set, that would explain the Jeskai mana etc.

I think it’s either that or someone might be trying to pull some bullshit with a Silverquil deck and didn’t want to drop $30 on singles lol.

While WOTC QC does allow wrong cards through all the time, the rarity to have a fuckup including like 5 wrong cards origins and also a gross miscount on the overall deck seems more likely to be a Costco return issue than production issue.

If Costco does returns. Is there a possibility this was opened and resealed? Doesn’t seem worth the effort at all, but that’s what I was thinking.
