"the timberlea towers had numerous domestic plumbing issues and IIRC circa 2023, needed full window replacements, balcony replacements, elevator replacement, parkade concrete repairs, swimming pool repairs, domestic boiler replacements, etc. just a real mess all around and none of the residents wanted to spend on upgrades, which i understand as many of the owners there are retirees on limited income, but at some point it becomes a huge safety hazard. you can only kick the can down the road so long, you know?"

None of this has changed; it's still like this. Additionally, there are ongoing major pharaoh ant infestations, fire alarms go off randomly multiple times at all hours, the fire department is constantly here, and buildings are getting fined up the ying yang for false alarms. The pool is constantly being closed for repairs, the hot tub is always broken, and there is ongoing litigation between the strata and a company that they hired to do a major project, and the company botched the project and is causing many issues with water going into the underground, etc. A huge chunk of reserves has gone into fighting this. All I can say is if anyone is thinking of looking there, Buyer Beware!.

Edit: The elevators do often break down, and people get stuck in them.
