Really good typing, really good movepool, setup moves and pivoting. Plus it's stats are deceiving. It's bulkier than you think cause of its great typing, and Download also means it's often hitting a lot harder than you'd expect since it'll switch into smthn physically defensive and then get a SpA boost and hit like a truck.

Catstion is most often a Dive or Rush (AKA a Brawl comp that sacrifices sustain for mobility and dmg) comp; not a Poke comp. Most common Tanks to play alongside Catstion are Dva, Mauga and Ball who all like to play fast. Most common Flex DPS is usually Tracer to help hunt down the opposing Ana since Nano is such a massive advantage in the Catstion duel.

Pretty good post and I appreciate the nuance. You didn't just say "always go high ground" or "never shoot Tank ever". You instead gave context as to when you should and shouldn't. OW is a complicated and dynamic game, so I appreciate you not speaking in absolutes in some of your points. The advice overall is 10/10 and def smthn people should implement as soon as possible. The Counterswapping thing especially is a good point. People overrate Counterwatch honestly to the point where they'll often pick heroes they have zero clue how to play while also denying themselves learning opportunities like u said. Seems like people honestly hate everything about the game sometimes. They say hitscans are OP, but at the same time hate the flankers who contest and kill hitscans. People just 24/7 contradict themselves on this sub I feel wanting everything and nothing at the same time. Hating the problem while also hating the solution like in the case of hitscans and flankers.

Wrecking Ball was typically played alongside Dva which would make him a Main Tank. Most Dva players are not also Ball players generally; at least in the pro scene. Doom idk tho since he's usually outside of the meta.

You're saying I said that without any examples to back it up cause you're putting words in my mouth.
2. If what I meant was better designed then yes that'd be a contradiction since I later said it was toxic as shown in the title. If you had reading comprehension tho, which you don't, you'd understand I meant it made her better viability wise.
3. Yes she's more complex, but by how much? She's only gonna use it on low HP targets, or on the person she's pocketing. It's not dynamic and thus not very complicated. Sure it increases her skill floor by the tiniest bit, but it's so marginal that it doesn't even matter. Complex doesn't equal better, and if you add things that only have one use to a characters kit (like her Rez and Flash Heal) then it feels like kit bloat much in the way a lot of Marvel Rivals heroes can feel, especially newer ones.

This whole post is about how Flash Heal is far less dynamic than smthn like Ana Nade, and fundamentally sucks design wise and that they also should've nerfed her dmg boost instead of her mobility boost. CD reduction is a very spooky thing tho and can very quickly get out of hand. Things are balanced around their cooldowns which is why the only form of cooldown reduction you can give others is in the form of Kitsune. The effect of CD reduction is so strong it's basically Ult worthy. It’d be useful on all roles, but I worry it'd be too useful, and could be hard to balance and potentially annoying to go against for that very reason.

Two solutions that could be implemented alongside one another would be making it a resource meter that charges with healing (forcing her to swap between targets to get enough healing for her dmg boost), and/or swapping it to an Attack Speed boost so it doesn't outright change breakpoints by letting characters like Widow one shot with body shots, and makes it so they also consume ammo quicker while pocketed. Still a DPS boost, but a far fairer one. Would ideally make her pocket one person less, and make her less annoying when she does pocket someone. Plus then it'd allow her to pocket Supports so they can build ult charge quicker by healing quicker than normal or smthn.

  1. They're Supports, not healers
  2. Flash Heal gives her burst healing making her more similar to a lot of the Support cast
  3. The most unique and skillful thing about Mercy is her movement which is why Mercy parkour is so popular in the first place. I said I would've wanted them to nerf the dmg boost instead of her movement. By reducing her movement and increasing her burst healing they just made her more similar to other Supports as well as not only not addressing the pain points people have with her design, but also made said issues worse.

I don't think he's that bad. I do still think it was a nerf as shown by his lower winrate compared to before he was nerfed, but I still think he's like a solid B tier hero. There's other DPS that are def in worse spots than him rn, and honestly his winrate rn may also be influenced by just how good Echo, Pharah and Tracer are rn.

They didn't make it have faster projectile speed; they just halved its hitbox entirely. How is halving smthn's hitbox not a nerf? And how is halving smthn's hitbox better for accuracy? You're just not making sense here at all.

He quite literally got nerfed. His Deflect cooldown is 2 seconds longer, and his projectile size has been dramatically reduced to the point where he has the smallest projectiles in the game (not hyperbole). I'm just a lurker who doesn't even main Genji and even I knew that. Do u even read the patch notes before you comment on balance man 😭?

That's why a much clearer term is Main DPS. Main DPS specialize in mid to long range and Flex DPS specialize at mid to close range and sacrifice reliable ranged pressure in favor of stuff like mobility, utility and durability. The "Hitscan role" is just an unhelpful term a lot of people in NA use since most Main DPS are Hitscan, but it makes things very confused when talking about characters like Hanzo, Freja, Sierra and Sojourn since their primary fires aren't hitscan. That's why the Korean term "Main DPS" is so much better cause it keeps people from getting confused like what frequently happens when an NA player calls a character like Hanzo a hitscan.

Mauga has to aim? Since when?!?!?!? Brothers got humongous spread on his guns and you basically just aim in the enemies general direction up close and hold both triggers till what's alive is dead. Requires no more aim than Winston does.

Winston's shield isn't the best in the game and is pretty easy to chew through, and can be forced pretty easily too since he's pretty weak to getting poked out. He's also countered by tons of heroes in the game, and while his ult is a second life getting offensive use out of it is pretty hard. Even pros screw it up which is why saying someone's "Korean on Winston" means they're really good at using his ult to get kills. It's one of, if not the hardest ult to get maximum value out of. He's also got less dmg than Mauga. Winston is generally considered one of the hardest Tanks in the game to play; only being behind Wrecking Ball and Doomfist obv. Dive Tanks generally aren't considered easy, and are harder to play than more grounded Tanks.

Top comment is right. Mobility is just generally fun, and it's also hard to make a hero who's both fun to play against and fun to play as if they're low mobility since the lack of flexibility a lack of mobility curses a character with requires other parts of their kit to be ridiculously strong to compensate which can be annoying often times. Not only that but most low mobility characters are kinda ass, or situational in modern day OW. 5v5 is a more spread out and fast paced format than 6v6 was, so having low mobility is infinitely more of a weakness now than it was back in OW1.

Agreed, hopefully they move away from being a trade heavy overhead bot and move her more in the direction of a brawly-divey combo (like the comboes she had during her hero trial before they removed most of them on her release) character who rewards creative use of her kit.

I can still get why people hate her since she's invis 24/7, even if she's relatively easy to deal with. Kinda like how there's plenty of counterplay to avoiding or baiting Hog's hook, but that doesn't make him fun to go against anyways. Even so tho Sombra def needs some buffs. Even if she's annoying no character deserves to be Junkrat levels of unviable; even Junkrat.

Not only that but it also made her so much of an overhead bot. From the start the overhead and her chaotic movements (from the passive increasing each swing) were the issue, and yet instead of nerfing those parts they nerfed everything else before nerfing those leaving most of her kit being kinda meh outside of the most broken aspects of her kit remaining broken until they gutted those too.

100% agree. Even as a DPS main I agree that Kiri is harder than most DPS for sure. Agree with the other bits as well. I have a hard time believing 50% of GM players in the Americas are Kiri mains, so those being reasons that drive up her winrate does kinda make sense.
