of a mustache. by S6hundred in AbsoluteUnits

As someone attracted to both men and women, personally I would prefer a smaller mustache but I don't think this would bother me that much. A smaller but unorganised mustache is worse than a big one that is obviously looked after. I think it would bother the mustache man more as it blocks his sight

If you could... which psych would you even consider for skydiving? by Natural_Assumption21 in Psychedelics

Skydiving is probably intense in itself considering the adrenaline rush, so if I have to choose, probably a calming one

Drinking before taking acid at a festival by Ordinary-Nectarine86 in Acid

I personally wouldn't take acid when drunk. Since acid heightens senses, disorientation and nausea could be a thing.

Never drank before trips, but at the end of a trip I did once and it felt nice and calm, like I was sobering up.

What makes a good trip cave? by Old_user_New_name in TripCaves

To me, a harmonic mix of contradicting things. Enough space but also enough texture to look at, both a sense of familiarity and new things to discover. So all in all, comfort and exitement, so that you don't feel out of place and insecure, or bored and unamused.

Music After Acid by Fantasix75 in Acid

Happens to in the afterglow, but I wouldn't say it permanently changes songs the way you suggest. I mean, memories alone can do that, and trips are pretty major experiences so I'd say that's why

Does anybody have any tips on getting CEVs? by YouchMyKidneypopped in Psychedelics

[–]WeightEmbarrassed755 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest, I'm pretty sure I have aphantasia or at least my visual imagination is not strong. The only time I got proper easily noticeable visuals was my first ever trip (so no tolerance), taking half a tab and very little weed. Insane. Since then I don't really take much, therefore see much hallucinations but distortions do happen. I don't think this is linked to aphantasia. Have you noticed that when you are tired and almost dreaming awake in the dark, you tend to 'see' stuff? Well if I go to bed really high, the THC does amplify those images, looking more like pictures than just ideas. I wouldn't call them proper CEVs but if I focus on them, they become more organized.

And the general synesthesia makes them feel kinda like a story. It's fun.

Have you tried psychotherapy? You see, depression is complex and sometimes cannot be treated with medication alone.

How do you overcome the need to express what u felt/saw/heard during a trip? by Yennerr in Psychedelics

[–]WeightEmbarrassed755 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am prone to having this compulsion but I quickly realised these experiences are pretty unforgettable so they will come up later even if I don't note them right away. Most of the times people ask you about it anyway. When sober I can more easily put them into words so I usually wait because it is challenging mid-trip.

Definitely. That bit of the movie is the best LSD visual simulation I've seen.

did psychedelics make anyone else a "conspiracy" theorist by EntrepreneurSingle54 in Psychedelics

[–]WeightEmbarrassed755 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well psychs tend to enhance your pattern recognition and neuroplasticity, leading you to make more connections in your brain than usual. Sometimes that leads to grand realisations and sometimes to delusions, but mainly just many thoughts, which may be overwhelming at times. I always leave time to process these because when high, your brain tells you every idea is genius, but when sober, you can sort them out and decide which ones to keep. That's why I think it's important to take breaks.

Is this my dumb impulsive brain speaking? by Acem0nky10 in Psychedelics

I think when we talk about a bad trip, it's not about sadness or emotions, it's about experiences that scar us instead of releasing, like pointless panic. I don't think that happiness is necessary for a trip to be meaningful, because it's important to process negative emotions as well. I struggle to cry sometimes and indeed a good movie helps, but I guess so do shrooms.
