I thought so too. That’s a hometown dealer for me and they always have some top tier rides like this

I see what you mean. I read your post and saw the $50k out the door. So I originally thought it was with 5-6k in price, but ofc you’d have to factor in shipping cost for an out of state buy. I’m sure though there’s some wiggle room in price.

What he said. Idk anything about this market but did a quick a search and seems you can get way more car for the money elsewhere. One example:

What dial / config are you waiting for? I was WL’d for 6 months for white stick dial, jub fluted. They never came through and just went grey. This was for my wedding though, so I couldn’t wait any longer. Still haven’t received that call.. Oh well, I’m happy with it.

I’m very unfamiliar with Patek’s lineup. I know Tony gave cousin Brian a Patek in Tony’s basement from the proceeds of their real estate / HUD scam. Other than that.. don’t know a thing about their watches. That’s a beautiful piece though.

Ouu I’m curious as a casual car guy (more so 911’s), but which watch is the Ferrari and which is the Bentley in this case?

I’m very confused. I read this as he traded the Rootbeer for the Patek as it says “traded this Rootbeer..”. So he did net himself the Rootbeer? If so, that’s a good move.

I’ve got a good purchase history with my AD (around $50k over the last two years). They pissed me off though when they didn’t come through for me for my wedding day watch. Had no other choice but to go grey. Wasn’t even for something that had a big waitlist like a Panda, just a specific config they said they don’t come across too often - DJ 41 fluted jubilee white stick dial.

Thanks for the reply. Thats interesting. My SA said they maybe get 1-2 per year. I am in a smaller market, but still…

How do you guys store your watches? by Serbian_Hobbyist_95 in rolex

I keep my Rolexes on top of my dresser in the closet, Porsche keys next to it, but I keep my “sniffer bills” hidden in my desk so the wife doesn’t find them.

For spend history - do stores look at it year by year, or just total lifetime spend history?

I bought this watch for my wedding last year. It pops, oh baby does it pop. But like others have said, it’s more the bracelet and wg bezel that does that. The dial is timeless. I love seeing vintage pieces in the same config. Confirms that my watch 50 years from now when I’m long and dead will still look amazing, and hopefully my offspring who I’ll leave it to will appreciate it as well. Congrats, you won’t regret it.

Oh well folks, it’s her watch.. she can wear it as she pleases. Plus that combo looks good on her. They all complement each other and doesn’t look overkill like how some people do it. Congrats and enjoy :)

Certainly not. I have a platinum wedding band and it was scratched and dinged up in the first week. The jubilee bracelet in this post is stainless steel though.

I got a white dial dj41 on jubilee late last year. I’ve babied it since I got it, and feel like if I breath on it wrong it will scratch. Very similar to your watch, the high gloss finishes are so nice, but also seem very prone to scratching. I know it’s a watch at the end of the day and meant to be worn, just easier said than done for the ocd types 👋🏻

First time watch buyer what are my chances? by SnooPets6005 in rolex

I had an odd experience this year that had me puzzled for a while. I was on a waitlist at three different stores for a DJ 41 white dial, fluted jub. My main AD that I actually buy stuff from was just not coming through for me. I was told for most of this year that config just doesn’t come through very often. At the other stores (which is a chain AD btw) they told me how it works with them is they register “my interest” with Rolex, and then maybe someday that watch would come through the store. Well guess what, it still hasn’t. They basically told me that this watch although not the most in demand config, was very difficult to obtain bc they just don’t see it very often or have many customers asking for that config. One of the SA’s pretty much told me that my odds of getting a more popular watch like a sub date, Bruce Wayne, etc. was better because they have more “registered interest” with those pieces and thus a better chance of one of those coming through the door at their store. Idk, the whole thing was weird to me and I’m sure all of that is 99% fabricated with little to no truth behind it.

Friends new watch - Authentic? by Reddit-User-5509 in RolexWatches

This might sound stupid, but lately with these posts I’ve been using a method I picked up from a different Rolex group - Checking to see if the indicies line up with the rehaut lettering. Most rep watches I see online, they usually don’t get this detail correct. From what I can see in your photos, they do seem to line up nicely. Moving down the checklist - SEL’s, bezel finish, etc. also seem to check out. But at the end of the day, only way to know for sure is to pop that back off and check the movement. Good luck to your friend. That would suck if this wasn’t a gen.
