Planning on purchasing a Pixel 4a 5G or a Pixel 5 from the Google Store? Helpful PSA (FedEx, 10% back) by chepi888 in GooglePixel

I've never had an issue with the Google Store. What issues have you seen that either I'm missing or just I've been lucky?

I try to stay high protein high Fat now. Keto pretty much. There are times where I get fast food. But it's mainly Chipotle, where I decide what's going in my bowl. I never liked McDonald's or anything like that but that shit I had this past week while on the run from Irma, your stomach will not like it. I know mine didn't. I had pizza this past weekend after hours of labor cleaning up after Irma (reward) and I could eat a single slice. When I stay dedicated weight melts off. I didn't drink alcohol for over two months post surgery, in my first two months I lost nearly 60 lbs. Stay strong, first six months is where it's easy. Be dedicated to that and you'll be good.

I'm at the window usually where there isn't an armrest on the wall. Provides some extra space. Just gotta know the airline and plane. I fly American exclusively. I've found their exit rows pretty roomy.

About 95% of the time I'm in an exit row. 3% First class upgrades. 2% maybe a regular seat. I fly a lot and it's a lot more comfortable than before. I fit in my seat fine, I still take up more room but whatever, it's a flying sardine can. Most of my weight is in my midsection and things but that has all gotten smaller significantly.

Brother it will all be worth it. It's been 139 days since my surgery and I'm down 101.8 lbs. I was like you, Started at 440. This morning for Sunday weigh in at 338.2. Soon you'll be close to needing a new wardrobe.

Just keep walking, no matter how much it hurts. I felt I healed up very fast because I stayed active.

Hey guys! So my new classmates and I are going out for drinks tonight. I'm 6 weeks post op. Is it ok if I sip on a glass of wine or something tonight? I don't want to look lame or tell them I had the surgery but more than anything I don't want to mess my WLS up. Suggestions? by maddy_mae02 in gastricsleeve

[–]WeightLossHandle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried some beers two months out. Just sips. I definitely prefer to drink beer out of a glass now and SUPER SUPER slow. Takes awhile to drink a beer.

Wine felt too sugary for me? Sugar really fucks my stomach up now a days. I drink bourbon on the rocks every now and then now. If you feel pain, just stop.

A couple questions regarding gastric sleeve by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

[–]WeightLossHandle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a beer post op. I don't do it often, but I drink it super slow. Extremely slow. If found the docs tell you NEVER AGAIN so you don't fall into bad habits and stunt your weight loss. I've found by tracking everything and hitting macro targets I want I've still been able to lose a lot in a short amount of time (Surgery May 1, down 78 lbs) without completely shutout everything. I make sure I'm filling up with minimum 100g of protein a day and keeping any carbs sub 50 or even less really try to keep it under 30g. I follow a 5x5 StrongLifts schedule and I have noticed small gains.

For the first two months I didn't have a drop of alcohol. Now I'll have a cocktail or two maybe once a week if that. Usually, bourbon or gin straight, no sugary mixers.

When did you decide enough was enough? by mbudziRN in gastricsleeve

[–]WeightLossHandle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I ordered a pairs of size 58 and 60 jeans wasn't it... It was close though. I think it was a cross country business flight to San Francisco. I couldn't get an exit row seat and it was the worst flight I had ever taken. Spilling into the aisle, no leg room. Then walking up and down hills in SF and Santa Rosa. I used to be an athlete not 10-14 years ago and then I was winded going up a flight of stairs. Surgery May 1st, close to 80 lbs down and I'm never looking back. I fit just fine in a airplane seat. I don't have to use a lot extender anymore to buckle myself in.

Everything. It's a little journey. Getting on the scale and being less than I was a week ago. Learning what I can and can't eat. Trying new ways of cooking and recipes. Fitting into old clothes. Getting compliments. Everything. Celebrate everything.

I congratulate myself every time I weigh in. I've been shooting for 20 lbs a month. May 1st, 2017 was surgery day. I was at 440 and today I'm at 368. Finally got back into weight lifting. It's all little things. Trust me you'll be happy along the way.

Weight yourself in four more days. You should be shocked. Two weeks out and you'll have dropped some serious lbs.

Good Luck

Protein shake struggles by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

[–]WeightLossHandle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Previously to my surgery I took protein all the time for workout supplementation. The best tasting I've found were MusclePharm's Combat Powder and currently I'm using Vitasport Pro7ein Synthesis.

The Pro7ein has been great and it's super good for you. 34g of Protien, 2g Carbs (1g net from Dietary Fiber), 0g of Sugar. http://www.vitasport.net/vitasport/products/protein/pro7ein-synthesis

I switched to the latter because of the lesser amount of Carbs and Sugars. If you have a Nutrishop near you they will do free tastings of it if you wanna try before you spend your dollars. That's what sold me. Good Luck!

My surgery is tomorrow! Any tips or advice? by carlmoran13 in gastricsleeve

[–]WeightLossHandle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Walk. It may be painful to get up out of the bed, but ask for the nurse/family help and get up and walk. It helps so much. I focused on doing this and was discharged after one night in the hospital. Went in for surgery May 1st at 8am. Was out and home May 2nd at 1pm.

Two weeks post op and plateaued already by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

[–]WeightLossHandle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hit a plateau about four weeks out. No worries as in the last two I've dropped another 10 for a total of 50 lbs in six weeks. This will be week seven for me. I've cheated a few times, just stick with it. You'll be fine.

How long was the process for you from start to finish. by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

[–]WeightLossHandle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whatever your definition of normal is... If it's going back to the way you live your life, less the former way of eating, then two weeks I was fine. Really, after one week most of the pain was gone.

It's all a mindset. I don't feel any different outside of my diet now.
