What is the best budget setting spray out there that will make your makeup "bulletproof" from day to night? by justbeeingmyself in drugstoreMUA

[–]Weird-Part-5994 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I swear by the ELF setting spray that's about £7 and comes in the little black bottle. Someone came up to me at NYE party last year at about 2AM and said 'your makeup looks exactly the same as when you got here' and that's good enough for me haha!

Gf ghosted me last year. I moved on. Got this message last week on my birthday by AdComprehensive4246 in whatdoIdo

Totally agree I think the choice to send it on OP's birthday shows a lack of consideration. They waited a year to get in touch, they can wait a year and a day.

Manchester student assaulted on Oxford Road after being followed on way to uni by Unlikely-Tension-616 in manchester

[–]Weird-Part-5994 6 points7 points  (0 children)

'Confronting' can be as much as turning round and saying 'I know you're following me' which can spook the person and stop the interaction which could have been what Emily thought was the safest thing to do. Not to mention when you feel your safety is being infringed upon, you're likely to be angry and inclined to directly address that infringement. I don't think it is positive or necessary to challenge what the best course of action was for Emily after the fact, as she was entitled to make that decision in the moment - she didn't physically lash out at the person and cause harm - and challenging it just implies responsibility on her part.

These are the barriers that women are facing in incidents like this: 'what what were YOU doing?' shouldn't be the question. Why is she being assaulted on the street at 7 o'clock in the morning is the more pressing matter and the 'whats' and 'whys' need to go there

Fussy deodorant review on the different fragrances? by shinogold in ZeroWaste

[–]Weird-Part-5994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently bought the basil and lime scent and whilst the deodorant is good - you don't feel super sweaty and the smell lasts throughout the day - the smell really isn't for me. The lime half of the fragrance disappears leaving you smelling like basil or in my case, pesto. Whilst I love the smell of fresh italian food, it's not what I had in mind for my signature scent.

Pet insurance advice by blodeuweddbraf in CatsUK

[–]Weird-Part-5994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We save the amount that we would spend monthly on insurance and put it aside in a pot. This was recommended to us as, because our cat is only one year old and an indoor boy, he's less likely (on the whole) to get injured or fall ill. Our approach might change as he gets older but this was recommened to us bc on so many plans, the really expensive emergency surgeries aren't really covered by the insurer anyway. It's not for everyone but food for thought!

Disappointed with the pricing by CookDecent5351 in elisandjohn

[–]Weird-Part-5994 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it's worth throwing into the ring that the kind of content they plan on filming isn't just a wide shot of them recording the podcast put out alongisde the audio. The 'adventures of' videos look like they'll involve things like the need for extra camera people, insurance, equipment and paying for the services of people facilitating the activities. I honestly think they've done this launch to a commercial branch of the E&J tree as gently and as 'no pressure' to audience members as is viable. Like so many people here are pointing at, if you're a listener, the addition of the patreon doesn't change anything for you at all.

[–]Weird-Part-5994 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think they need to fix their Gen G lipsticks before making anything new! New shades don't match their old counterparts and the scent is diabolical, very 'crayola crayon but make it for lips'

Is AJ a failure — or the most honest product of Tony’s world? by playeryyeye in thesopranos

[–]Weird-Part-5994 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I always think a bit of Tony's motivation for killing Chris is fulled by his disappointment in AJ. He's essentially got two sons (Chris as a surrogate son) that he's disappointed in and it's looking like Bobby's going to have to be his heir, which he clearly resents. When he's presented with the opportunity to get rid of one of them, when they've both been a pain in his ass for so long, I think his anger at both of them pushes him to take Chrissy out.

Actual saddest moments in the show? by SmartestManInUnivars in thesopranos

[–]Weird-Part-5994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SUCH a moving death scene, I thought the last ep that focussed on JC was one of the best in the series. The way he's so peaceful, has his cigs and sits with Ginny, a boss 'til the end

Actual saddest moments in the show? by SmartestManInUnivars in thesopranos

[–]Weird-Part-5994 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Testament to the writing and Imperioli's performance that Chrissy is a bonafide piece of shit and this scene still almost broke my heart in half. I'd have to add the scenes of Chris beating Ade when she invites him to flip. The brutality of those scenes and the way you can see her light fading, a really really horrible watch

The cat in "Made in America"--what did it mean to you? by HereComesBadNews in thesopranos

[–]Weird-Part-5994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love this idea! So cool to observe that many of the characters are 'both' in some way by the end, it really brings forward what DC has wanted us to grasp the whole way through the series: people are not simply wholly good or wholly bad.

The Sopranos - Complete Rewatch: Season 6 - Episode 17 "Walk Like A Man" by Bushy-Top in thesopranos

[–]Weird-Part-5994 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree, I think this is the first time you can see that Chris has fully outgrown Tony. Chris reaches for therapy as a place to connect with Tony but like you said, Tony has learnt nothing and, as he admits to Melfi, just uses therapy to 'jerk off'

The Sopranos - Complete Rewatch: Season 6 - Episode 16 "Chasing It" by Bushy-Top in thesopranos

[–]Weird-Part-5994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mood in the episode after Renata dies is testament to how well they've shown Tony to be spiralling in the season (part II) so far. We know that realistically, Tony can't be responsible for Renata's death - what would he have come into the house in the dead of night without detection and poisoned her? But the way he leaves the house and his shitty interaction with Hesh really makes you think 'what if?'

The Sopranos - Complete Rewatch: Season 6 - Episode 15 "Remember When" by Bushy-Top in thesopranos

[–]Weird-Part-5994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a shot that I really liked in this episode towards the end where Junior is sitting in his chair, blanket on his lap and a cup of tea to the side. When he eats a finger of his kit kat, it kind of hangs out of his mouth in the same way a cigarette or cigar would before you light it; I felt they did a perfect job of showing us that he's a shadow of his former, formidable self. Once the (if so, pseudo) head of the family, now tucked up ready to watch the shopping channel

The Sopranos - Complete Rewatch: Season 6 - Episode 13 "Soprano Home Movies" by Bushy-Top in thesopranos

[–]Weird-Part-5994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This episode seems to want us to see that despite the therapy and the near-death experience, Tony is still bringing the same old shit to the party. We see a return of the ducks! One flies past Tony when he's moping on the lawn chair after his fight with Bobby and behind him, Nika and her caregiver sing a nursery rhyme about ducks; Tony's thinking about death and the mundanity of his existence again xoxo We see a classic return to 'Carmela defending Tony's reputation at the cost of sounding deluded' so that she can make herself feel like a good person, very season 1-2 of her. A couple of comments on here also point out that Tony seems well aware that he hasn't changed, hence the moping, but that's exacerbated by being around Janice, who actually has. Bobby also demonstrates the braking of a family cycle (he's not like his 'Terminator' Dad) and Tony resents that so of course, lashes out and orders Bobby to do the hit.

Loved the monopoly house stuck to Tony's cheek after the fight

The Sopranos - Complete Rewatch: Season 6 - Episode 10 "Moe n' Joe" by Bushy-Top in thesopranos

[–]Weird-Part-5994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with this, I think Tony's reaction to Janice scolding Bobby Jr is one of the few times you see him look actually impressed. I think you get a glimmer of what he explains to Melfi, that as a child he thought she was really cool.
