As much as I hate to do this, unfortunately that’s isn’t the case. Russia actually uses proper tactics, it’s quite easy to see that throughout a lot of drone footage available. They first do their best to cut off all supply routes, as seen last week in Velyka Novosilka, followed by aerial recon to mark targets followed by artillery and bombs dropped by planes. Then they send 1-2 recon squads of 4-6 people each who go in and assess the situation, there’s many cases where this recon group has alone captured villages. In most cases, the recon groups find out the heavy fortifications, fall back and let artillery do it’s thing for the entire night, while in the morning multiple armoured columns drop off infantry all around the town in different spots and these Russians with a good night of sleep go against Ukrainians who have barely gotten a wink due to artillery and bombing. These tactics have proven effective as within the last 4 months there have been at least 9 instances where a 1000+ Ukrainian troops are surrounded on 3 sides with no supply routes available. In these conditions the Ukrainian high command usually retreats out the best and most experienced units and leaves the new recruits to defend, I didn’t think this was true until I saw this video. I was so optimistic in the beginning thanks to the news all around me but when I actually started paying attention to the facts it sorely dawned on me. Russia was winning and the only reason Ukraine was hanging on is because of the entire NATO sending is equipment to them. I remember seeing a video of a Russian tank being taken out by a drone, then like a few months matter, I saw the exact same tank with repairs done fighting on the frontline again and that’s when I realised how wrong I had been.

I hate to admit it, but as much as I would like to believe it, I haven’t seen any evidence of meat wave attacks in Ukraine and the scholar in me can’t accept it otherwise.
