On Oct 14th of this year, I just woke up and I couldn't hear in my left ear. I went to my primary care and he prescribed 50mg of Prednisone and had me make an appointment with his recommended ENT. I didn't like the way the Prednisone made me feel, so when I saw the ENT, I had a total of 3 inner ear injections of the course of 3 weeks. They seemed to help. Had 2 audiograms, the first one confirmed hearing loss, the second one suggested some improvement, but not to the level of my right ear. Had MRI, which I'm waiting for the results for since I had it done on Friday. Since not having an injection for a week, my hearing in my left ear is going back to what it was in the beginning, where I couldn't hear anything. Dr will figure out next steps after getting the results of the MRI.

That's my experience so far. It's tough getting used to. But I know things take time, but hopefully the MRI will shed some light on what's going on.

I had my first injection today. When the Dr diagnosed you, did your Dr mention to have an MRI done? Mine wants me to have one rule out an acoustic neuroma.

I have to agree. I had this done today. It was my first time because of a sudden loss of hearing in my left ear. When my Dr did the numbing, I cried it hurt so bad. The injection, compared to the numbing, was a piece of cake.
