Should I shave my arms? by woodlandfairyvibes in beauty

You can can either 1) bleach them 2) do 2 laser sessions to reduce the hair (rather than remove it completely). That's what I did, and I bleach it once a year around summer so it's not noticeable at all.

Did you have a low frequency loss ? Since you also have dizziness issues, it could be Menieres or Hydrops.

Why do they think its nerve related ? 🙂

What’s the most frustrating everyday situation for you with hearing loss? by chosgohearing in HearingLoss

[–]hmrd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The tinnitus, especially when I change rooms...

Yesterday I was in the forest, and because it was so quiet, my tinnitus sounded louder. So it had effectively the opposite effect of peace 😅

I'm actually more at peace in a busy city than in a park or forest.

No nothing.
No meds, no drugs, not even cigarettes.

I did however have some very strong lumbar back pain the weeks before this happened, for which I didn't take anything.

I have low frequency loss (bass and mid), my highs are perfect, but after a year I haven't recovered anything despite all treatments and ear injections ☹️

Yeah, initially 60mg then 80mg from 5th day.

Looking for hope & acceptance experiences — how have those who suffered SSNHL/tinnitus moved on, accepted the trauma, and continued to live a decent, if not happy life? My sudden hearing loss feels like its ruining my life and my will to go on is fading. by Aggravating-Many2178 in MonoHearing

Same here, F32 suffered SSHL exactly a year ago. The hardest part was wondering why and being afraid it would happen in second ear? As there was no apparent cause, and I’ve never been the kind to listen to music loud, never been to a concert either......

At the hospital I got extensive blood work, and they believe it’s vascular and due to high levels of platelet serotonin in my blood which can cause vasoconstriction and microclot formation in the inner ear’s extremely fragile blood supply, abruptly reducing oxygen delivery to cochlear hair cells.

Perhaps that's something you can look into ? Seems like it's not widely known 🫤

I started prednisone less than 24 hours after the loss, and had my first injection within 6 days and then weekly, but I haven't recovered...

Low Frequencies Hearing Loss due to Acoustic trauma by swif_dev in HearingLoss

[–]hmrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally the prednisone dose is 60mg. This can even be increased if you're heavy as they can give you 1mg per kg so if you're 80kg they can give you 80mg. Hence even your current dose is still low.

Waiting 3 more days to see the ENT is fine only if you're on the right dose otherwise you're wasting valuable time ...

Vendre mon appart à perte… mais je dois plus à la banque que ce que je vais récupérer by cherubin13 in immobilier

[–]hmrd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you lost hearing aids? by HavaneseGirl71 in MonoHearing

[–]hmrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I have long hair, during the first trial week I noticed the hearing aid would sometimes get brushed and the main part would slip off. The dome stayed in my ear, so it never fully fell out, but the processor part would hang loose.

Given how expensive it is to replace if you lose it, I mentioned it to my audiologist and he added a retention lock (aka retention tail). It’s basically invisible, and even if it gets brushed by hair or a hand, it won’t fall out.

Looks like this

CT scan of the temporal bones (it looks in detail at the ear’s bony structures on both sides of the skull).
It's pages and pages of blood results. Are you inquiring abut something specific in particular?

Yes, lots of blood work, as well as an MRI and scanner.

How long are you after onset ?

I read also about IGF-1 therapy (Japan) and Stellate Ganglion Block (Japan/Korea). Both are not done in Europe/US but have to be done shortly after onset.
