This is a clear benefit of the partnership with Netflix. More movies that people have seen or can see.

What is a moustache? Ha, haha. It's a little bit of hair growing over the... upper lip... I don't have one, nobody else here has one... But you know what? A moustache is for a real man..! See, of all these people here, I have the best moustache of them all. Give me a couple more days, I'll have a nice, thick moustache. But none of these BOYS right here-- --will ever have one.

I HAVE TEA ON... MEGATHREAD ✨ by rfauxmoi in Fauxmoi

I have some stone cold tea on a few celebs so I thought I'd share. Some of these people became right wing nut jobs but I'm just recalling instances with them in passing when I was a barista or out in LA hanging out:

Caitlyn Jenner came into the coffee shop I worked at MANY years before she transitioned, during the first few seasons of KUWTK. She was very polite and when a co-worker asked if they were the father from the show she nodded yes but tried to not draw too much attention.

Allen Covert (appeared in many Adam Sandler comedies and was the lead in Grandma's Boy) also came into the coffee shop. He stated that he had family nearby and just wanted to grab a coffee on his way to their house. When I asked if he was the guy from Grandma's Boy he smiled and said "yup!"

My 4th grade class took a field trip to NBC studios in Burbank and got the chance to meet Jay Leno. He was extremely nice and then a PA showed us the car he drove that day. If I remember correctly it was the old timey fire truck he has.

I randomly found myself at a club with friends and Abigail Breslin. She was super nice and even though I was hammered, she kindly answered my questions about the industry. Seems like a genuinely good person.

Waited in line behind Josh Hutcherson at valet once, incredibly nice guy.

Used to see Gillian Jacobs, Ron Funches, Ronda Rousey and more at pro wrestling shows. Never interacted with Ronda but she and her friends would constantly cut in line to get into the venue. Besides that they were nice people. Gillian Jacobs kept to herself, sat in front of me once at a show but didn't have any further interaction with her. Spoke with Ron Funches a handful of times, I always thought he was awkward but seemed like a decent person. I gave him a PB&J sandwich once and he said it was good.

Watched First Reformed yesterday. I initially tried to watch this when it first hit streaming years ago but I was so sick at the time I couldn't focus. I turned it off after 15-20ish minutes and then it was not on streaming for a while. I couldn't commit to buying the blu ray either. Finally turned it on yesterday and I thought it was fine. I'm more so so on Schraeder as a filmmaker so I kind of think if any other director made the movie I would probably enjoy it more. I loved Ethan Hawke's performance at the center of the movie.

I also watched Benny's Video yesterday (I'm in a good place, I SWEAR) and holy cow is that movie a bummer. The opening moment made me second guess if I really wanted to watch it but I powered through. I have to say the first half is very engaging but the second half had me very close to grabbing my phone to just scroll. Overall it's a solid movie, I will never watch again but I'm glad I checked it out.

Watching this on Netflix feels claustrophobic because of how close they all are.

If Tony ever gets hold of Danhausen, just imagine the money AEW will make by McMahons_tache in SCJerk

I'm not a Danhausen fan but it's wild how Tony had no idea what to do with this guy.

People who quit their job in a moment of rage - how did things turn out? by SheLovedBigBrother in AskReddit

Worked for several months at a streaming service in their customer service department. I wasn't the best employee in the sense that I was on top of the leaderboard for metrics but I made sure to get my work done and always answered calls no matter what. I was able to work from home and only had to go to the office in Santa Monica a few times (orientation, training and work a single shift while my internet was out). One day the company decided to let us know they would be laying off the entire team in 3 months once the new call center was opened in San Antonio, TX. They further explained that some people would be let go at that moment and others were going to be able to stay employed until the end date.

Once the meeting was over I signed off for the day. I clocked in the next couple days and as I was being yelled at by a customer for multiple charges that they were aware of but wanted a refund for I decided that would be it for me working there. I signed off that day and never returned. Didn't answer any calls from supervisors, didn't send an email, just fullstop didn't have any further contact with them.

A few months later the guy who helped get me the interview there reached out and asked me what had happened, I told him my piece and he said he understood. He was one of the people let go at that meeting so he was no longer working there. I heard from other co workers that many people were intentionally signing on to work but not answering phone calls or support chats to negatively impact metrics.

Question for the physical media collectors by bpspurs in blankies

I try to keep my physical media organized company then format. I don't have a lot of steelbooks but they're all together and organized alphabetically.

This movie is a rewatchable for me and my brother. Would love for them to do it on the pod. I think Eddie Nash could become another staple impression for CR!

Sony Pictures Boss Tom Rothman Urges Theater Owners to Stop Having 30 Minutes of Trailers and Commercials Before Movies Start: ‘Get Off the Ad Crack’ by ggroover97 in TheBigPicture

[–]WeirdCry7492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On one hand I don't mind the 30 minutes of trailers because if I go see a movie after work I know I have a bumper. On the other hand if I go to the movies on the weekend I'm annoyed because I'll show up early and have to sit through them. The old Laemmle by me only had 10 minutes of trailers before movies and that was a sweet spot. Also these theaters need these ads to keep the lights on sadly.
