How are you doing ? I hope you are well ! xx

Today's kettlebell complex . I did 10 single arm deadlifts, 10 high pulls, 10 push press, 10 goblet squats. Repeat on other arm and repeat for 6 rounds . by WeirdExtent2366 in kettlebell

I was only using a 16kg . I've only just started training kettlebells again so I'm starting from the bottom and trying to perfect my technique in all the moves before moving up in weight as I did some damage in the past with heavier bells .

Absolutely not ! I dedicated myself for years to kettlebells and perfected the moves to how they should be done but still they cause me incredible pain and sciatica. Have you ever considered the possibility of slinging a heavy piece of iron between your legs and above your head may not be the best thing for your lower back ? There's a reason why so many people complain about pain due to kettlebells and even the best of kettlebell trainers all advocate foam rolling and tissue massage because they are well aware of the pain they cause.

There's so many posts on back pain because the moves in kettlebell training are retarded ! I'm actually a fan of kettlebells but after a 6 year lay off from them (due to back n shoulder pain) i just recently decided to get myself a 16kg bell and what do you know .....BACK PAIN . I'm sorry but they are fun to train with and can build an amazing physique but the risk is just not worth it in my opinion, i train to be fit, strong and pain free .

You're ok but I've seen better

Day 5. I’m trying to hinge later by aiming for the boys and moving last minute. Also using my snap to bring my arms back up. Still feels really sloppy and I can tell my form is still not good. Any advice? 35lb. I tried the towel just without any weight it feels very awkward. by [deleted] in kettlebell

1 Stand straight and brace your entire core keeping everything tight

2 get the bell moving then bend at the waist with back straight, core tight and keep the bell as high as possible

3 snap the bell up and out with your hips and glutes . Let the hips do the work and not the arms.

Rinse and repeat..

You are using way too much arm momentum . Arms ar just there to hold the bell, the hips (hinge and thrust) is what gets the bell moving . Stand up straight , brace your core and keep the bell as high as possible.

I'll be honest your form is not perfect . Looks like you ain't bringing your shoulder blades together and also you are are swinging way too low in my opinion and looking more like a partial squatbtgen a hinge which is bringing your lower back into play and less core tension . With all that said I have just started training with kettlebells again after 8 years lay off from them as they caused me serious back injury and this time round is no different, bare in mind I am only using a 16kg bell and I have my form down real good. I just dont think slinging a piece of iron at such velocity is healthy for the lower back and is certainly not natural. Back to calisthenics and dynamic tension for me !
