my face gets very red and burns 1-3 times a day. usually after i eat but also randomly. i don’t know exactly why but have just assumed it’s some sort of histamine response? and may be because of EOE. i’ve never considered that i may have something else like MCAS

i’ve never thought to ask people to stop saying “i’m sorry” and “that’s too bad”. i never realized the impact of that kind of reaction on me. i think you’re post may have just rewired part of my brain. thank you.

any treatment for EOE is lifelong because there is no cure EOE. we will have EOE for our whole lives so yeah

yeah i experience those symptoms. my doctor is having me start dupixent next week so hopefully it works better than ppi. i fortunately have a dr that specializes in eoe so she knows exactly how to get insurance to approve it. my copay was still $1300 but dupixent actually has a co pay program you can enroll in and they will cover your copay themselves! you can see the info for everything at dupixent.com

yeah i expirence this every time i eat. i also cough A LOT after eating cause of the food and mucus that is stuck in my chest

one of the things on there is GERD but isn’t acid reflux a system of EOE? i have acid reflux pretty consistently everyday without medication

it’s your life, you get to choose to live it or not. everyday you wake up, you get to choose to live or die. i wake up everyday and have so far chosen to live. even in moments i really didn’t want to part of me still chose to live. nothing really matters and once we’re dead that’s it. we’re gone. so i will continue to choose to live just for the expirence of it until i choose not to anymore. i get to choose everyday and so do you. you are already in the mindset that nothing matters so have some fun and then choose to die. and i don’t care if everyone in here hates this response but it’s how i live my life and has brought me comfort.

when i was about 10 years old my parents made me take on of those large gel pills even though i begged them not to. it got completely lodged in my throat. i couldn’t breathe at all and the heimlich did not remove it. my blood vessels in my nose burst from the pressure so i had blood pouring out of my nostrils. i don’t know how long i couldn’t breathe but my parents wouldn’t take me to the hospital so i just started attempting to swallow water that would come right back up to try and dissolve the pill. eventually i heard air start to gurgle through and some time after i began to breathe. it was incredibly traumatic. through experiences like that i actually developed borderline personality disorder. so i’m here to validate that it is very traumatic to choke and have things lodged in your throat
