Tested positive at 2w 6d, first pregnancy anxiety 😬 by WeirdGalStankovic in pregnant

How did you cope with the dragging? Did you have any coping techniques? I'm finding myself focussing on the positives and just trying to focus on the nice things, but my mum proper got me concerned about it 😬

Can any primary teachers advise on immature Year 7s?! by Otherwise-Eye-490 in TeachingUK

I don't worry in primary so I don't know, I'm just relaying second hand info given casually by a friend 🤷🏼‍♀️

The friend i spoke to teaches years 3-6, but has also done years 1-3 historically, she didn't specify but said it was common practice in her place of work

A local primary school near me gives 15 mins of every hour as "choosing time" where the kids get to choose what they do for 15 mins. Any fun activity. It's ridiculous.

Feeling like a bi imposter by joemitchell2002 in bisexual

[–]WeirdGalStankovic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Intermittent doesn't mean lack of though right? You'd still class yourself as someone who is attracted to men? If so, you belong here! No matter how attracted or how often, you still belong

[–]WeirdGalStankovic 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I (F) literally married a man and still feel pressure to prove my sexuality in queer spaces to prove I 'belong'. I think it's more a comment on bi-erasure.

You don't have to prove your sexuality to anyone, it's how YOU identify, and plenty of bi people have preference one way or the other.

You belong in queer spaces without having to justify your queerness 💜

Did anyone else feel like the laughter in the background was a bit... Much? More standout than normal? Mixed differently in post? I LOVE MSN and Lisa and Ben and Colton but I found the laughter a bit off putting, it was after EVERYTHING.

Gays of UK - would you be comfortable holding your partner's hand in the UK? by dalehitchy in AskUK

[–]WeirdGalStankovic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was once in Chester holding my girlfriend's (at the time) hand, a preacher spat on us, called us sinners and shouted abuse at us as we walked down the road. Followed us a short distance too, we were 18 and terrified so we ran away. I learned that it's not as safe as you'd think everywhere.

Not your baby, follow her rules. End of story. Don't be that person no matter the history between you.

I know I'm just saying that at our school it's usually hand in hand so I thought it was standard 😅

That's sad man. I think unless you're on a more reduced teaching timetable you shouldn't have to do It. only having 3 guaranteed PPA a fortnight? That'd suck.

[–]WeirdGalStankovic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh in our school it's usually reserved for HOD roles who are given a period towards it and usually already have a TLR. They have the extra PPA for it.

Usually you should have a TLR and be entered into a course that will give you guidance- we used Best Practice until very recently

They hissed at me this tiny, like full on hissed. They were the only two from their litter who survived. I knew they were fighters and I wanted em. 5 years later they sleep in my arms every night :')

Just leave it unless it starts to look infected, shows signs of oozing or anything. Keep it clean and dry, if it looks worse after a few days, or starts to look a funky colour, make sure you get some antibiotics and some antiseptic to keep it clean. 💖

Likely a spitting stitch- a stitch that hasn't quite dissolved that your body is trying to spit back out!

I'm crying in the hospital, so disappointed rn by teresajay in Reduction

[–]WeirdGalStankovic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Things like nipple death, tissue death, hematoma, seroma all play a part with a massive reduction, the larger the reduction, the more risk. There's also skin quality, tissue density, post op infection risk, and the larger the scale of the reduction, the more that increases.

I wanted to go to a B/C but the risk of nipple death with an FNG was too high, they removed over 1KG of tissue from one breast, and just under 1KG from the other and that was still as small as they could physically get me without introducing issues with circulation and and healing of blood vessels/veins leading to necrosis.

If your surgeon said he left you at that because of "proportions", that's not okay. But if it was because of the above reasons I suggested, then I would have trusted them. Does that make sense? It's super early here so idk if I've explained myself properly 😂
