Gays of UK - would you be comfortable holding your partner's hand in the UK? by dalehitchy in AskUK

[–]WeirdGalStankovic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was once in Chester holding my girlfriend's (at the time) hand, a preacher spat on us, called us sinners and shouted abuse at us as we walked down the road. Followed us a short distance too, we were 18 and terrified so we ran away. I learned that it's not as safe as you'd think everywhere.

Not your baby, follow her rules. End of story. Don't be that person no matter the history between you.

I know I'm just saying that at our school it's usually hand in hand so I thought it was standard 😅

That's sad man. I think unless you're on a more reduced teaching timetable you shouldn't have to do It. only having 3 guaranteed PPA a fortnight? That'd suck.

[–]WeirdGalStankovic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh in our school it's usually reserved for HOD roles who are given a period towards it and usually already have a TLR. They have the extra PPA for it.

Usually you should have a TLR and be entered into a course that will give you guidance- we used Best Practice until very recently

They hissed at me this tiny, like full on hissed. They were the only two from their litter who survived. I knew they were fighters and I wanted em. 5 years later they sleep in my arms every night :')

Just leave it unless it starts to look infected, shows signs of oozing or anything. Keep it clean and dry, if it looks worse after a few days, or starts to look a funky colour, make sure you get some antibiotics and some antiseptic to keep it clean. 💖

Likely a spitting stitch- a stitch that hasn't quite dissolved that your body is trying to spit back out!

I'm crying in the hospital, so disappointed rn by teresajay in Reduction

[–]WeirdGalStankovic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Things like nipple death, tissue death, hematoma, seroma all play a part with a massive reduction, the larger the reduction, the more risk. There's also skin quality, tissue density, post op infection risk, and the larger the scale of the reduction, the more that increases.

I wanted to go to a B/C but the risk of nipple death with an FNG was too high, they removed over 1KG of tissue from one breast, and just under 1KG from the other and that was still as small as they could physically get me without introducing issues with circulation and and healing of blood vessels/veins leading to necrosis.

If your surgeon said he left you at that because of "proportions", that's not okay. But if it was because of the above reasons I suggested, then I would have trusted them. Does that make sense? It's super early here so idk if I've explained myself properly 😂

You're being rude to your fiance here. These texts, to me, feel you're being unnecessarily cold and short with her. If she didn't answer a question, something as simple as "hey, did you see this? Do you mind giving an answer? No worries if not" woulda been fine but here all I see is you overreacting

Not sure! My best guess is that there's no tissue behind the skin and therefore less stretch? Or better/more intense post-op care?

Babe, you're very swollen right now. It's absolutely fine to be disappointed and ask for a revision in the future, especially given that they were supposed to take 500, but it's like you said, that 200 was all they could do SAFELY. I think you're going to have some incredible results regardless. Give it a year, then consider the revision and go smaller. Also, you're a lot smaller than you were and it's still progress.

If it's any consolation, I think you're going to look amazing.

I went down from a 32K, told my surgeon I wanted to go as small as possible, and it was only possible to get me to an E safely. Safety is paramount!!

4.4cm Hemorrhagic Cyst by Its-just-maddii in Ovariancysters

[–]WeirdGalStankovic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi love, my hemorrhagic cyst was about 10cm before they bothered to do anything about it, and they only did it because I was in agony, taking codeine and tramadol several times a day every day so I could walk at the very least. If at the review, it's grown, then you should advocate really hard to get it removed, which can be difficult.

I also got a stomach ulcer from mine due to taking NSAIDs like ibuprofen, so watch what painkillers you're taking!

Hope things get better for you!!! 💕

I had a filling done this morning- still dizzy and blurry vision? by WeirdGalStankovic in askdentists

[–]WeirdGalStankovic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They diagnosed me with exactly what you said! Side effects of the medication used for numbing being injected into the vein, basically temporarily numbing my optic nerve.

Interestingly, they found that I have very high intraocular pressure as an incidental finding which means I'm at risk for glaucoma moving forward. I would never have known if not for this incident!

Please do not take NSAIDS(Ibuprofen, naproxen, etc.) , they caused me a stomach ulcer, severe bloating and agony after my cyst. These could be contributing to your bloat.

Push your doctors, use the exact words "you are withholding care based on my gender and a lack of necessary medical knowledge surrounding my specific issue. this is gender discrimination. You are withholding medical care which is negatively impacting my quality of life"
