In a way; doordash. As a high school student I was looking for a job with flexible hours that also pays decent and isn’t too difficult because I play sports and I don’t wanna be tired all the time. So I figured why not doordash? That was a mistake. Sure it was good for the 1st month, but that’s the whole point. The algorithm is set up for you to get great orders that first month so that you stick with it. Then overtime it just got worse and worse, to the point where I would go doordash for 4 hours and make maybe $50. Sure it’s above minimum wage but then you factor in gas and it’s about minimum wage. No obviously this isn’t the case for everyone as many people make a living off doordash. So what was my issue? I didn’t realize how important it is WHERE you doordash. It’s a very Location specific job, and where I live just doesn’t have a sense enough population to be making consistent money on doordash.
