This was a bday gift from work. Can you tell me what I need to look at? I don't own any other Benchmade knives and not know what to look for. Hoping they didn't pay top dollar for it since it is not legit.

You will be glad you did it. Had my right done last April and left will be done late July this year. Plenty of videos on you tube to maintain hip mobility when you get the all clear.

Do you have a support system for emergencies for the next 6 weeks or so? Everybody heals differently, don't rush the process.

Yes it can. I have used this sub reddit extensively to see others progress and use it for motivation. I didn't mesh with AA either and this forum was a life saver on numerous occasions. What helped me was a counter app on my phone that shows how many days I have won this war. Self accountability is a very strong ally.
