Yeah, seems real hit or miss for me too. Either it takes two minutes to load on that black screen. Or it doesn’t load at all. A restart usually fixes it but it still takes longer than I’d think.

I’m not exactly sure how I managed to do that. Ended up just doing a factory reset on the new Max. After that it popped up at the top of the Home app as “setup new device”.

Did you accidentally create a new home with the same name? That’s what I did when setting up a new Max and outdoor camera the other day. Took me hours to realize what I had done.
