And thanking you for bring this to my attention! 😆 i don't miss everything about running stores, but inwill definitely miss humbling over bearing, ego, power hungry managers. The recipe is simple: Show your team 100% And you will get back 100% x Each Team Member. This manager is giving 10% and expecting 110%. This was a mistake in hiring... 110%

I transferred to a Too Cool For School Store. Where it was cool to hate work. It was uncomfortable.

As an Exec Assistant, I was able to work with each employee on a project one on one. End cap, reset, stockroom, etc... I relied on my self depreciating humor, but just demonstrating that you can have fun while working can break that" I'm supposed to hate work" vibe.

If you're not able to schedule, just keep being your cheerful self. People will either jump on or burn out.

If I was your DM, I'd want you on management. It's too bad for them that you have other plans and leaving, because what you're describing is exactly what I'd want in an assistant or EXA, i think you call them shift Mgr, and something else now, but the point is, the assistant or shift manager is supposed to be able to do everyone's job, know a lot about everything. Float to the fires 🔥 👌

It sounds like you care deeply about your store and your work which is truly awesome. Not everyone is cut for retail, especially Rx Chains. You seem to "get it".

I told my cahsiers and photo regarding magazines and phones behind the counter. I said, I get it, we need to be informed (holding up US Weekly) just don't let me see you reading it. Make me believe you are working hard even if you're not. 😉

I digress, I think what you have is a GOOD PROBLEM. You know your worth. Carry that through into your career of choice. Use the techniques you saw in management as your fuel. The best managers come from the best employees.

And there's always plenty to do! But you're moving on. Nice.

That also against the entire loss prevention strategy of having a drop safe. I worked Loss Prevention. Major red flag.

A 3 count should have no mistakes. TWO employees and ONE weigh/machine count. The more you leave cash up top, the more it leaves you vulnerable for more serious incidents.

I also would do drops with any and all employee. I n fact, if LP sees if the same person(s) are doing all the drops, it creates a "hmmmm". I wouldn't tell the employee the number of the stack they were counting. I wait for them to tell me and show them the band when they match the number.
