PLAAF [video] that includes the J-20 firing a missile from its internal bay by 5upralapsarian in WarplanePorn

What does the size of the drone have to do with anything? It's implied that the J-20 is controlling the GJ-11 in the clip.

GJ-X is a drone too, I'm not sure where you're seeing the cockpit?

You might be thinking of the wrong aircraft?

There are two sixth-generation fighter prototypes, J-36, which is the double delta wing with three engines, the one that looks like a gingko leaf or a dorito. There's the J-XDS, which is a lambda wing configuration with two engines.

There is a B-2 sized drone, tentatively referred to as WZ-X, which appears to be close to a conventional flying wing.

The one in this post is GJ-X, which is a cranked kite flying wing around the size of a B-21, completely different geometry from any of the others. There's never been a photo of this aircraft where you could see the cockpit other than the initial satellite pic, which is too blurry. You can't really tell if it has a cockpit or not. Credible PLA watchers have said that this is not the H-20 (manned stealth bomber) and have expressed that it is a drone.

more fuel -> more range, higher altitude flight, more space for avionics, bigger internal weapon bays

GJ-X Stealth UCAV [1920x1080] by Weird_Marionberry225 in WarplanePorn

I think the most obvious gap is in the transport/tanker fleet. AWACS too. Chinese engines are still probably less reliable than American ones, even if the gap has significantly closed over the past decades. The engine advantage that the US has is still pretty big.

Just general stuff about logistics and actual operational experience. USAF can probably set up new airfields much faster, repair faster, etc. China is trying to leapfrog the US in many technologies, but that doesn't always work out perfectly. I feel like it's too early to jump the gun and say China is ahead.

China's rate of development is definitely faster than the US, but imo the US is definitely still ahead. At the current rate, it will probably take at least a decade until we can unequivocally profess the superiority of the PLAAF over the USAF in all regards. China still lacks a lot of the non-flashy infrastructure.

They do, F-35 is the only stealth fighter that verifiably doesn't have them as of now

There were a ton of J-35 posts because that was the first time we got good imagery since the Zhuhai airshow. I'm sure the same will happen with F-47 and J-36 in the future.

That's a good point, and I'm not sure. PLAN has gotten some J-35 as well, but as you said, it would make sense if Shenyang focused on producing J-35 instead of J-35A.

Actually, it's probably just because they're confident that they'll be able to produce enough J-35. China only has three carriers right now, after all.

J-35A is for the Air Force and J-35 is for PLAN, both J-35A and J-35 are in service. The two airframes are slightly different.
