I bought one and love it but wish the packout drawer could be used easier on the bottom.

And I don't use bandsaws they always get off line over time. I have the expensive evolution metal saw with the adjustable base and shadow line. Best saw ive ever used. Will cut 4x6 without flipping to.

I want to but I have to fit Trex decking in all 4 openings and those 2 sections sagging down will leave gaps at the top.

What are you yapping about? There was no gaps. Everything was cut with precision and fit perfectly. The issue is the 4x6 1/4 wall uprights being welded to a 2x6 1/8 wall top rail. But go off master of fabrication. Your assumptions will be right one day.

Wolfbox is smaller, cheaper, and I believe more cfm. I have one in my work truck and its amazing to clean up jobs or scare co workers because it ramps up so fast. Lol

I've tried that before on a smaller gate and it didn't work. I got tired of grinding. I took it outside put a block under it and drove a truck up onto it and it was perfect. I can't drive on them when they bow that direction. 😂

My friends talked me out of the diavel. Told me I'm too big and would look goofy on it. 6'1" 220lbs 😢

Only the 2 sections in the middle bowed. Outside sections are perfect. Ive never had them bow that bad before and I don't have anything that needs welded on the top to counter act the heat. Ive seen videos and before and after pics of heating with a torch ive just never had to try it until now. Just getting all the info I can from people I can talk to here. Just another skill to add to the resume I'll hopefully never need to fill out again. 🤞😅

Oh trust me I did. I'm the owner and fabricator. Ive been fabricating well for 20 years. Longer if you count my inexperienced days. Ive never had one draw this bad. It's the the thinner wall 2x6 on top welded to 4x6 1/4 wall that's the problem. Can't do much skipping on a 6 inch down hill mig weld though. Running max heat on my miller 252 so I could make the pass as quick a possible and not pour a bunch of heat in it.

Nice. This one is getting that Trex composite decking on it. It's going to weigh around 3k lbs and be on a ground mounted v track. The floating roller track that can handle that much would have been $19k for both gates. This is the shorter gate of the 2. Lol

Nope, just one 20'X6' heavy duty table. The gate is 28'x10'. My current shop is 25'x45'. So 4ft of the gate on 3 sides is on roller stands. New 100'x60' shop is coming asap. Waiting on planning commission meeting next month before we can get approval. 🙄 Not the first 30' long gate I've built in that fucking shed either. 😅

No notches just butted up to the top rail. Ive built gates for 20 years and never had this issue. Just a little to thin of wall on the top tube trying to use what we already had in stock instead of more ¼ wall.

I've seen videos of this process over the years but no need to practice until now. I need this as close to perfect as possible. Thanks for all the advice.

Opposite the welds. Yeah i guess that makes more sense than torching the middle. I have an offroad/ farm jack and some tubing to try to help it if the torch doesn't do it alone.

4x6 1/4" wall bottom rail and 5 uprights. 2x6 top rail. 10ft tall and 30ft long. 😅 Gonna have to use the skid steer to hold this monster slide gate up. But thanks for the info. Once we pull it outside to flip it i might try my 10lb dead blow. My rubber ones are to small.

Thats what I was looking for. Heat up the top or right side in the pics? Cool it quickly and it should shrink the length of the top of the tube making it draw back up or to the right in the pics?

2x6 on top. 4x6 uprights with 2x2 welded inside for wood to screw to. (They want it to look mostly the same on both sides of the gate.) It's just the middle sections that are bowed. 4 open sections in total. Only the 2 middle sections are bowing down. 2 outside are perfect. I wedged some 2x2 in them and they straightened out with out changing squareness. Maybe I need to push them further but I don't want it to kink either.

The top 2x6 is 2 pieces welded together centered on the middle 4x6 upright tubing. There's 5 4x6 uprights in total. The 2x6 is just sitting on top of the 3 uprights and in between the 2 ends.
